What things have gone wrong with the car?
1964 IMPALA SUPER SPORT CONVERTIBLE.
THE ORIGINAL ENGINE BURNED OIL AT 115,OOO SO PREVIOUS OWNER REPLACED WITH
NEW 350V8 4 BBL HOLLEY MILD CAM HEADERS ALL NEW EXHAUST. SHORTLY THEREAFTER THE TRANSMISSION WAS
CHANGED FROM FLOOR AUTOMATIC TO CORRECT YEAR VINTAGE 4 SPEED A LOT OF WORK ALSO CHANGED OUT THE CENTER CONSOLE ALL PARTS FROM CARLISLE. ALTHOUGH NOT ORIGINAL I WAS HAPPIER ALSO WITH THE 4 SPEED AND POWER STEERING. NOT A GREAT HANDLING CAR ON CORNERS AND BRAKES FADED, BUT A VERY COMFORTABLE CRUISER. BLACK BUCKETS GOT VERY HOT WITH THE TOP DOWN!
BAD QUARTERS AND TRUNK PRETTY BAD RUST
ALL REPAIRED PRIMED BUT WERE NOT REPAINTED........
REPLACED STARTER WAS ESPECIALLY HARD TO GET AT BY HEADERS
CHROME AND FISHSCALE TRIM HELD UP VERY WELL VERY NICE
INTERIOR WAS IN GREAT CONDITION
REPLACED COIL SPRINGS
TRUNK LIGHTS USE TO GO OUT AT TIMES WHEN CLOSING LID
COULD NOT FIND CORRECT POWER TOP SWITCH
ANYWHERE FINALLY ENDED UP AT RADIO SHACK! Never
ANY PROBLEM WITH POWER TOP.
MY WIFE HOWEVER HATED THIS CAR DIDN'T UNDERSTAND.

I sold to buy a nice 1969 SS Camaro 4 speed otherwise I would be having super regrets!
