1989 Mitsubishi Galant gsr review from Australia and New Zealand
"Pleasing performance from a 16yr old car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
When I purchased the car the compressor from the Electronic Controlled Suspension (ECS) system had to be replaced. This totalled about $1000. It is actually more likely you will find a Galant GSR with the ECS not intact.
Clutch needed replacing, although this was probably due to someone thrashing the car.
Twin cam engine is not the strongest of its class, however it does give performance.
General comments?
This is my first car and overall I am pleased with it. Costly in the beginning, but this was due to the previous owner's bad driving and no the car's fault.
For a 16yr old car it is quick. Don't go picking fights with the big boys (200sx or supra etc.) but demolishes lasers and pulsars and pre vl commodores.
Roomy and luxurious enough with all electrics.
