1999 Hyundai Sonata GLS review from North America
"Nice looking car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Engine check light came on at 70,000.
Car would not start when the check engine light came on.
Radio going bad.
Small oil leak not found from mechanic and small transmission leak.
General comments?
Car drives well better than expected. The brakes are OK, but tend to fad if going down steep hills.
The car does not shift well at all with the A/C on under any circumstances such as a small hill and soforth.
Overall the car does ride good and has decent excelleration.
This mid-size car does feel large inside almost at time a little too large.
It can easily accommodate 2 adults and 2 children very easly.
Not sure if I would buy another one being they tend to have a lot of problems that the mechanics cannot seem to resolve like the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT.
Overall the car looks and runs good besides the problems. But I can see when the resells are so bad.
