1982 Toyota Celica RA60 review from Australia and New Zealand
"Great"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
When I bought the car I had to replace the Bottom tank of the radiator.
Previous owner preferred, to keep a bottle of water in the back instead...
New back brakes, normal wear though. Recently the clutch has disconnected somehow, dirve chain a bit loose.
General comments?
The celica is now 23 years old, quite an age for any car. The engine was replaced before I got it, with a 21R-U.
The body looks OK, the headlights are horrible, they "flop foward", opposed to "popping up".
Handles allright, you feel the car and road when you drive, and with a bit of practice you can make the car go pretty quick..
I should point out the other day, I saw a celica identical to mine, stuck into a tree. The young P plater went into the roundabout and when straight out into a tree.. No injuries.
You may catch celica-itis. And then potentially toyota-itis. Theyre really just that great.
