1992 Fiat Uno Fire IE review from UK and Ireland
"A real workhorse"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Nothing major, although brake pipes, exhaust, fan belt and cam belt all needed changing the first time I took it for an MOT.
There are also several electrical faults which are a complete mystery, for example the rear screen wash does not work, even though there is nothing wrong with the motor and the wires are not corroded.
General comments?
This is a very reliablework horse, starts first time, and there is an amazing amount of space inside for such a small car.
The build quality is a big improvement on my previous first generation Uno (also a fire engine model), although there are a few spots of rust appearing on the doors which I am having to keep on top of. This second generation model is however much heavier and this, along with the cat, makes it much slower in the acceleration stakes. It is not as much fun to drive as my first Uno, although it is much more stable on the motorway.
All in all, a good buy, and a lot cheaper than the competition.
