1994 Mitsubishi Galant GT Sports 2.0 twin turbo petrol V6

Summary:

High performance, good value, soulless gas guzzler

Faults:

Nothing at all, I only owned it for 6 months. Towards the end the steering gave indicators of big trouble.

General Comments:

Extremely fast. Huge amount of top end power, faster than my 96 Subaru GT from 80kph to 200 plus.

4WD system good as good as Subarus.

Lots of weight, but around 240hp.

Shocking fuel consumption, far worse than the twin turbo Legacy - average 9k to a litre when driven softly although not much difference when thrashed.

Turbos constantly on (even when revs were under 2000!)

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

Just brought one of these about 2 weeks, ago. Yes it is a GAS Guzzler, and it definitely prefers the 96 + octane fuel. I got about 470K's for a 55 litre fill up!..

I had mine AA inspected - all that was wrong was the parcel shelf was missing. But have found another defect since owning it. When you put your foot down in 5th, doing say 120Kms, at about the 4500RPM range the clutch seems to slip, strange thing is that it does not do it in any other gear. So that will be nice and expensive!

However the car is much more fun than the old 1800 Mitsubishi Libero (auto) I used to drive.!
