The guy who had changed it on dawewoo repair shop dint do his job well and it happened again finally when I got the job fixed. The car was back in fit shape... Now to my surprise it gives me an average of 10Km/L wiht out A/c and with Air Con on It lands with 8km/L And The Rest is working good.

I have a 95 Cielo GL, with 250,000 on clock. It is not garaged but still looks great (ruby red in colour). Keep up with oil changes and filters and all will be good. Do your work people.

From Australia Queensland.

1997 Daewoo Cielo GLE 1.6 petrol

Summary:

Very good if you have the money for gas

Faults:

Air conditioner failed several times, even after repeated service. Fan belt got worn out. Engine oil leak due to oil pressure valve. Brake Pads were changed. New tires for all 4+1 wheels. Wheel alignment was needed. Car didn't do more than 110Km/h, Probably dude to alignment faults. Several minor fixes.

General Comments:

The car has been very comfortable to drive. The repairs since I bought the car cost ed around $500 till today. Considerably less compared to the amount of gas it consumed. Everything else is so so.

The engine is very good for Indian cities.

It some what skidded while I took a quick turn.

Fuel efficiency 6 - 7Km/liter.

Sounds like every single one of the complaints can be traced back to driving style. Including fuel economy. Belts break. They are rubber turning on hot metal hundreds of times a minute. Especially if you run your engine at excessively high RPMs redlining it all of the time. This also wears out the bearings in your air conditioning. You will have either performance or cold air. Not both. Whether you have a 150hp engine or an 800hp engine.

Summary:

A great buy

Faults:

The fan belt transmission fuse point blew at 32000 Km.

The seat height adjuster broke at 34000 Km.

The A/C is becoming less effective.

General Comments:

This was in fact a very good buy. It keeps up to it's name and performance.

I is just great for Indian roads, and gives me a very smooth & comfortable drive.

The engine is packed with a lot of power, I've driven it at a maximum speed of 170 Km/Hr, and even at this speed that car runs very smoothly.

Pick up is phenomenal, I can reach 120 Km/Hr within seconds.

I've heard that this car is very low on mileage, but ever since I have this car it gives me 10-11 Km/Lt in city and 14-15 Km/Lt on highways (with the A/C).

I very satisfied with this car.

Seems to be the case with most. it does give a few problems at times, but then overall a great car to have.

I have been driving a cielo for five years now and I have never regretted the decision of buying this car.

The car has a very strong body. Infact better than the others. I had a head on collision with a truck, but only because of the bumper I can say "It saved my life". If it would have be some other car then probably I wouldn't be writing this message.

Apart from that Mileage is absolutely fine. Its has a satisfactory pick up with the A/C. but its six years now and still my car touches a speed of 160 mph with five people on board. That's Amazing!!! I Love Daewoo Cielo GLE.
