1986 BMW 3 Series ES 2.7 liter striaght 6

Faults:

It has a bit of rust on the driver door and a little on the trunk.

Clear coat is starting to peel off.

Needed need fan control switch for heater and a new radiator hose which I took off my old car.

General Comments:

This is the best car ever.

Crashed through a wooden and chain link fence at the same time, and not even a scratch except the license plate was bent a little.

VERY STRONG CAR!!!

1986 BMW 3 Series 325es 2.7 Inline 6 cylinder

Summary:

Absolutely Amazing

Faults:

Idle was very rough when car ran for a long period of time.

Rest of things that went bad on the car was simply regular maintenance Such as paint, brakes, tires, plugs, wires, oil changes, etc.

General Comments:

This car was absolutely amazing. I was truly in love with it. I bought it when it was rather beat up. Only paid $800 and then painted it re-did the wheels, put a high performance exhaust on it (which by the way sounded excellent) I put at most $600 into the car in the entire 2 years I had owned it! I thought that was spectacular especially considering I spent $350 on the paint alone. The car was pretty quick and very responsive. I had a blast every single time I drove this car. It also handled like a go-kart, an absolute blast! Unfortunately, after two years the idle was getting extremely rough and it was pushing black smoke out of the pipes. I had assumed I blew the head gasket, but wasn't positive. My friend gave me a decent offer for it ($1500) so I made a mistake and sold it. I have been searching all around for another one and haven't yet found the "right" deal just yet. I highly recommend this car. You WON'T be let down!

Hey man, I just want to know where you're located to get a paintjob for 350 bucks, and only putting 600 into the car with a high performance exaust also..

Please contact me; my phone number is 201 724 3710. I just bought one and I need to learn more about it. It's pretty beat up as well.

1986 BMW 3 Series 325 2.7L

Summary:

Wonderful drivers car

Faults:

Battery died, but it was a faulty battery.

Starter Solenoid should be replaced, as I get trouble once in a while, but it still works without it.

Just about everything in the car is on the verge of dying, but by some miracle, it clings to life.

General Comments:

I love this car. There's something about rear wheel drive that's just incredible. This car itself is not the best example, having high kms and being poorly maintained by its past owner (s). At the same time, that's the reason why it is such a great example. It has almost 350 000 km now, and it's still a joy to drive. it has more than ample power, and the rear wheel drive is always a joy. It can be a bit of a chore to drive if the roads are very icy, and busy, but when the roads are empty, I put the car sideways on just about every corner, and it goes exactly where I want it to. it leaves me looking forward to the next chance I'll have to drive her. It also feels rock solid at any speed, even 140+.

As with most other E30s I've read about, my interior lights aren't there, and my doors, especially the front passenger door, can be sticky sometimes.

All things considered, I would not hesitate to recommend this car to anyone who's looking for a cheap used car that is also a joy to drive.

"It also feels rock solid at any speed, even 140+."

OK I know this statement is totally false, since the 325 eta motor topped out at only 180kph/112.5mph.

Even on my newer 325is, I can only reach 210kph/131.25mph wiht performance mods.

Well, considering that he referred to the mileage on his vehicle in km I would assume that he is referring to the max speed of 140+KM/h, and not mph.
