1984 Buick LeSabre Custom 3.8L V6

Summary:

A great deal

Faults:

The rear left window stopped working and so have the power unlock button on the driver's side.

General Comments:

Great car if you take care of it.

A little on the big side, but rides like it is sitting on a cushion of air.

V6 Model gets great gas mileage.

That's an awfully big car to just have a v-6!

1984 Buick LeSabre Custom V8

Summary:

Great car, but could be shorter!

Faults:

We had to replace the heater core.

The car needed alignment and needed tires shortly after we bought it.

General Comments:

We had a 1997 Buick Skylark, which was totaled, so we just kept the LeSabre instead of getting a new one. We took it on 2 long trips and it did really well, surprising me. My only complaint is that it is way too long.

1984 Buick LeSabre Limited Olds 307

Summary:

One of a kind

Faults:

New tires and shocks all around when first bought.

Driver's side air-induction pipes and check valve replaced.

Diver's side power station windows and locks went out, fixed windows with speaker wire, power locks still broken.

Trans rebuilt with the addition of shift kit.

Motor mounts replaced.

Complete brake job- front rotors, rear drums replaced, pads, etc.

Muffler rusted off and replaced along with rear end of tailpipe.

TPS in carb went out, replaced.

Valve cover seals replaced.

Front sway bar mounts replaced.

General Comments:

The car itself has had its general problems with age and with any car is to be expected. I love the car, its been completely reliable, always turns over, even in the coldest Chicago winters. The only real continuing problem has been the motor mounts, possibly from a small oil leak in the front main seal. Rides excellent on the highway and anywhere else. Slow off the line, but at most any other speed can haul some serious ass when needed, especially with the addition on the shift kit. No problem cruising at 80-85 mph with the car packed with stuff.

1984 Buick LeSabre Limited 307olds 5.0L 4bbl

Summary:

Very reliable solid classy car

Faults:

Fuel pump got replaced at about 153 000km.

Windows are slow, but it work.

New fuel tank.

Just maintenance for 20 yr old car.

General Comments:

Car is very compfortable and you can fit all your friends with 6 seat belts. 8 will fit without much effort.

Car is horrible in the snow with the posi rear ends it slip and slides OK to impress your friends.

The 4bbl carburetor really works well when you floor it and with the breather flipped up you get some decent power.

This is a pimped out looking car and a classic ill drive it until it dies.

1984 Buick LeSabre LTD 307

Summary:

This car was very well made

Faults:

Replaced the front brake pads at 39,000 miles.

Failed emissions twice, the carburetor screws keep coming loose.

Replaced AC compressor about 35,000 miles.

General Comments:

The mileage is original at 43,000.

This old Buick is a very comfortable car. The seats are nice and cushy.

It handles well, but the front end seems to push a little on slow turns.

When it's in tune as it is now I get 14 mpg in town. That isn't bad at all for a big car.

The AC needs a charge every year or two even with the new compressor.

1984 Buick LeSabre Limited 307in V8 5.0L

Summary:

It's a BEAST!

Faults:

The previous owner of this car kind of beat it up and got the transmission changed, but I haven't had any problems with the transmission since.

I replaced the brake calipers and master cylinder.

The distributor cap and rotor had to be changed.

The belts have a tendency to screech from time to time.

The windows are slow and the A/C needs charging.

Basically all the small things that go wrong with a car nearly 20 years old.

General Comments:

This is a great car. It has power and a roaring engine to go along with it. Everyone that rides in it loves the car and it is a real pleasure to drive.

While it is a real gas-guzzling land yacht it rides smoothly and you get respect from other drivers while on the road. You feel real safe in this car, it is like driving a tank.

It will fit you and all your friends and I don't think I could get it to bottom out if I tried. All around a real great car to drive and own.
