Faults:

Instrument panel was bad when the car was bought. Recently replaced with one from junk yard. Fuel gauge and Odometer work now, $160.

Fuel Injectors going bad. Had two replaced by dealer, $800. The other four should last me for a while, but I'm not looking forward to getting those replaced.

A/C doesn't work. Who cares, I live in Washington.

Catalytic Converter went bad. Had that replaced and a new exhaust put on (dual exhaust with glass packs, one catalytic converter), $350.

Automatic antenna broke. Went to junk yard and bought another (like $35). That one broke. Bought a CD Player so I don't use the antenna anymore.

Several sensors were replaced in the engine trying to fix a problem that was a result of the bad fuel injectors (discussed above). Not too expensive at all. Don't remember though (probably not a required fix).

Break light, $2.

Two new tires on front (2 of my 4 tired had gone bad, the 2 remaining good one's rotated to back), $90.

Transmission seems to be going bad and will cost $1800 to rebuild (and have a shift kit installed at the same time). We're going to try running a special fluid which is supposed to prolong the life of the transmission.

Front seats cracked (gray leather). Car spent a good deal of time in Florida before it came up to Washington. Thinking about getting seat covers. Estimated cost, $140.

General Comments:

This was my first car and I've had it for about 1 year, 3 months now (I'm 2 months away from being 18 years old). At first, I thought there was no way of getting around this old person car and that I would just buy a Honda Civic when I had a little bit of money built up. After some upgrades/fixes/TLC I'm still debating about keeping this car and improving it, but I'm not actively looking for another car anymore.

Painted front grille black (left parts of it chrome, looks good). Got dual chrome tipped exhaust on back. Bought trunk rack/spoiler combo from junk yard for $100. The car is currently a darker gray color that sparkles and shines a lot more than you think it would in the sun (I think it's been repainted once from last owner). I'm thinking about getting it repainted to black to match the black spoiler, black grill, and black side molding. Car definitely has potential even for a Buick.

Faults:

The steering wheel did not hold up and when placed in heat melts on your hands.

The driver's seat wore badly.

The trunk and engine compartment light do not work.

Digital dash does not like the cold weather.

General Comments:

This car is seriously fast.

This car is the best at handling, it has the same suspension as the early nineties Firebirds.

This car was the demo car on the GM commercials.

The paint is 13 years old and is in better condition than my father's 2000 Dodge.

Faults:

The ceiling is sagging.

Needed a new transmission.

Needed a new water pump.

Needed a new brake light switch.

The horn blows for no reason when the temperature outside drops below zero.

The horn also blows when making 90 degree angle turns when it is hot outside.

Front passenger seat belt cover broke off.

General Comments:

Despite these things, this is a good car. Now, the transmission problem was rather expensive. But overall, I think that it is doing well being 13 years old. It is great in the snow and rain.

However, it doesn't do so great going up steep inclines. It just feels as though it is too much effort for the engine.
