1996 Buick Regal Gran Sport 3.8

Summary:

Outstanding value, Buick quality!

Faults:

Only trouble I have had with this wonderful automobile is the CD player has a habit of skipping on some of my discs. Never been able to figure out why.

General Comments:

For the guy that wrote a review trashing my car I have this to say... Meet me with what's left of your Camry (which he claimed the greatest car ever built) and I'll show you what a car is supposed to be. Runs, drives and handles beautifully! Will suck the ugly headlights out of your precious little Japanse cars with the A/C on full and the CD cranking!

1996 Buick Regal Limited V6

Summary:

STINKS

Faults:

Lights, brakes, fuel pump, rear brakes froze up, front brakes overheating.

General Comments:

I have problems with this damn car and I worry that the next thing that will happen is the car will start on fire.

Dealers lie when you call and ask about class action lawsuits. They won't admit that there was a class action lawsuit for 19 million from 1988-1993 regarding the rear brakes. They seemed to not have fixed the problem, seeing I am have the same problems and I own a 1996. If anyone out there knows where I can get involved in a class action lawsuit, let me know.

There was no class action lawsuit.

There is a class action law suit. All applications had to be mailed on or before 10/27/00. I am part of the Class. My wife had purchased a 1989 Buick Regal GS. We almost died once when the brakes froze as we entered a ramp to enter a major interstate highway.

The address is GM Brake Repair Litigation Settlement. PO Box 9349 Garden City NY 11530-9349.

The "800" is BS, but if you want:

1-888-439-4793.

I too would walk before buying another GM Product.

1996 Buick Regal Custom 3.8L V6

Faults:

ALTERNATOR!!! Lasted only 2.5 years. Cost nearly $300 to fix. Car had just passed the 36,000 mile warranty period. Creaking noise from rack & pinion. Dealer insists everything is fine.

1996 Buick Regal Custom 3.8

Faults:

Each year I have had a semi-major problem happen, but thankfully it has been covered by the warranty. Because of this I have taken out the extended warranty to see me through the next three years.

One of the problems was to due with the brake pulsation, there was also an upper intake manifold fracture, and just yesterday I had to have a gasket repaired, and a rear tailight lens replaced - it had water inside the light.

General Comments:

Overall I do like the car, but I was told that you must have money if you buy a Buick, because when they need to be fixed they are pricey.

I probably won't buy another Buick, but I do like GM products and would consider purchasing something else from them.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know

I own a 1996 Buick regal-4 door custom coupe and I must agree with a previous owner. My car has had problems with the brakes pulsing, the intake manifold being blown, water in the tail lights and problems with the HVAC. I will not buy another american made car, especially a buick.
