Summary:

Dollar Store Quality in all regards, YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!!!

Faults:

Every front end suspension component e. g ball joints, idler arm, tie rods ends...

Oil cooler lines every 2 yrs.

Two wheel bearing assemblies which come as a complete unit worth $260 canadian each.

Transmission.

Alternator.

Power window, Both power side mirrors, Radio, Horn, fuel gage.

ON AND ON / NON STOP PROBLEMS.

General Comments:

In my life I have never bought anything which has caused me so much grief and disappointment as this Awesome looking lemon. If you fall for it's good looks like I did you will WITHOUT QUESTION be entering into a vicious downward spiral of major expense and disappointment. I babied this truck like no other. I followed the maintenance intervals to a tee, including changing the transmission fluid and filter. I never took my Blazer off road because everything is SOOOO cheap and rattles that it would quickly fall apart. The value of this truck depreciated $11 000 in the 3 years that I have had it and this doesn't include the roughly $10 000 I have had to put into it. I am disgusted with the lack of quality in this truck and will NEVER buy a Chev again. DON'T DO IT TO YOUSELF, TRUST ME!!!

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know

I love the looks of the ZR2 so much that I will probably get one in a year or two. I know what I'm getting into, and there are great fan sites available that can help out with low cost solutions to the many problems that come with owning one of these things. Check out www.zr2usa.com.

Cars these days are just getting uglier and uglier. Every car company is just copying the looks of the other car companies, and the ZR2 is truly a unique looking vehicle that will probably be a classic one day. To be fair to your vehicle, you bought it with high miles and you don't know how it was treated. Did the previous owner beat the snot out it off road? Did he drive it through deep water? Was it in a flood?

I own a 1995 Nissan Pathfinder now, and I can tell you that it has had its share of problems. Ball joints, power locks, exhaust manifolds, chronic alignment problems, weather stripping failing, rear main seal of engine leaking, dismal power, bad gas mileage, etc., etc. So, the Blazers are not alone with having problems, and I think you have one of the nicest looking vehicles on the road.

Summary:

The motor is great; everything else is suspect

Faults:

I have replaced all four ball joints at least once. When the dealer replaced the uppers with the same OEM junk, they failed again. I have replaced the right wheel bearing; the oil cooler lines; the seat handles busted three times each; the gas gauge doesn't work and the rear wiper motor only lasted 2 years.

General Comments:

I wish everything was a s well built as the motor. I love the 4.3 and never have any issues with that, but everything around it seems questionable. I am livid with GM for not fixing the recurring problems that EVERYONE seems to have. When my upper right ball joint went I just had gotten off the freeway to gas up and it failed while at the gas station. I can only imagine what would have happened had the ball joint failed at 75 MPH. For that reason alone GM should recall, remanufacture and replace the ball joints on Blazers.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know

I agree strongly with this person however I have had to spend lots on the motor as well. Just months after I bought it second hand I had to have all new valve lifters replaced. My gas gauge hasn't worked in months as well plus the handles on the seats were all broken when I bought it. Lots of complaints with this one and wouldn't purchase another one.
