2000 Chevrolet Blazer LT 4.3 Vortec

Summary:

I love my truck, I just wish things would quit breaking!

Faults:

My transmission blew at 160,000km.

My encoder motor for the 4X4 went at 120,000Km, which is an $800.00 dealership fix.

My heater core went at 100,000, which is $1000.00 fix.

My fuel gauge quit working around 110,000km.

Everyone and their brother has run into it! Every part of the body is new except for the front. None were my fault by the way.

General Comments:

This vehicle is very comfortable to drive and efficient on gas for an SUV.

2000 Chevrolet Blazer LX V6 4.3 litre

Summary:

10 out of 10 on quality and performance!

Faults:

The rear window wiper doesn't work.

General Comments:

It handles great and has really good acceleration and gas mileage.

It has every stock power option available.

This truck is way better than my Lincoln Continental.

I think all the blazer haters should shut up, because they didn't take care of their blazer right or they bought theirs from someone who didn't take care of it.

I ran a Carfax report on mine before I bought it and there were 4 previous owners who reported no problems with it at all. All the regular-scheduled maintenance was done on time and efficiently.

2000 Chevrolet Blazer LT 4.3

Summary:

Lemon

Faults:

I purchased my Blazer used; loved the size, power, and all the toys, but here is what I have had to do or replace on my Blazer.

At 51,000 the rear end blew up; not like you would think, a piece of metal shot out of the cover. Called the dealer where I purchased it out of warranty. Called Chevy normal use and out of warranty.

At 43,500 gas gauge, drivers side window motor, and seat handle broke off all within a few weeks of each other.

At 53,000 the rear window wiper quit.

At 83,000 a noise from the drivers side. Still working to find out what could be wrong.

Oh I almost forgot, at 74,000 the drivers side door fell and broke the latch off. Same year the 4 wheel drive went out.

General Comments:

While I have done most of the work myself, it makes me angry that a company can make a piece of %*#T can still sleep well at night. I have spent a couple thousand on this truck.

2000 Chevrolet Blazer

Summary:

Very disappointed, have always had good luck with GM in the past

Faults:

My header gasket 80,000 miles has blown, just realized today. Purchased this truck Oct. of '07 from an personal owner, not a dealer. Mistake #1. Took it in for inspection. It passed. Had the oil changed while in there for that, also it was skipping so had a complete tune up done, all this 10 days after purchase.

Okay, thought things were good to go. Next complete rear brake job. One time out it will skip the nest it won't. Have had it back to garage about 6 more time because of the skipping, feels like you're riding a bucking bronco. Two times ago-put on the machine plugs 4 & 5 misfiring. He couldn't understand. Monkeyed with plug wires, back on machine running fine. Next day skipping again. Took it back told him seems to be worst when it was raining or damp. Left it there 2 days. He drove it and put back on machine all 6 plugs misfiring. Thought maybe defective distributor cap. No... He got it running good. Put some fuel injector cleaner in, said to drive and see what happens.

Picked it up last Friday at closing.. No skipping and also no heat.. I live in Fingerlakes NY and you need a heater this time of year!!! Blowing ice cold air, and temp gage going up, oh no!! Stopped and got anti-freeze filled overflow.. got heat okay. Went home. Next day. to store skipping a little.. no heat. Didn't drive yesterday.

Today went out started it.. let run few minutes checked heat. No Heat.. Pulled dip stick (had that feeling) nice milky looking oil... oh no!! Now I have this piece of _____, live on social security disablity and can't afford this big expense. So sorry I bought this vehicle. Oh yes back hatch won't open, passenger seat recline level broke off. outside mirror adjusted won't work. and no heat on the floor, just windshield and dash.. And now NO HEAT AT ALL!!!
