Faults:

The only trouble I've had with the car is that the driver's side valve cover leaked oil, but a new gasket solved the problem.

General Comments:

The car is about 25 years old and it runs as good as it did the day it rolled off of the assembly line.

Faults:

I had to replace the headliner, alternator, battery, and some other things. I put all new Monroe airs-shocks on all four corners, with airshocks in back. Last March I had a Flow-master put on it, but it wasn't that loud. Around last winter I almost burnt the motor up (damn, idiot lights) which led to the motor getting a mild knock in it. I drove it like that for about a year until the motor finally bit the dust. It was getting too much crankcase blow-by spitting oil up through the carburetor. In my opinion the 305's were the poorest engines ever built.

General Comments:

It was a fun car to drive. When ever the pavement was wet you could be driving at 25 mph and punch it, and you spin the tires for at least a block until the car finally picked up traction.

These cars make perfect super-cars, the only thing is that if you make it a hotrod then you need to add some weight to the rear-end or you won't get any traction. The after-market parts for these cars are pretty plentiful.

These cars are pretty tough too. I have hit so many things that it still managed to stay running. The interior is pretty plain and convenient. All the controls are within an arms reach. The 40/60 bench seats were pretty comfy. Back behind the seats you had plenty of space to put a killer system. The flaw that the interior lacked was a full set of gauges. Instead, it had idiot lights, you can ruin a motor by the lights not coming on, and if they do come on then that is when you need to stop.

Faults:

There has really been nothing that has gone wrong with the car yet except for a few things (which to me are normal) ;

1. Water Pump

2. Belts and Hoses

3. A/C.

Everything on this truck is original and normal maintenance has been performed on the vehicle since its purchase originally from the manufacturer.

General Comments:

I got this truck from my father in law who passed away last year. He used it as a farm truck and did not drive it much. For a 1985 with only 86,000 miles when I got it, it has performed well and looks good. The driver's side of the vehicle is somewhat faded, but that is from him parking it that way in the sun when he was on the farm. The engine is not quite powerful enough for me, but it is only a V6 and under all that metal, is a little sluggish for me when I pound the accelerator. The comfort level in the vehicle is standard for that model; it floats and turns like a boat, but is smooth on the road.

I am experiencing problems with it now, but it is basically parts that are needing to be replaced because of age. I intend to do either of the following:

1. Top to bottom Resto of the entire vehicle back to showroom stick (except for a stereo).

2. Complete body resto and add small block 350, turbo 400 tranny, supercharger and posi rear end and add a stereo.

I have been happy with the vehicle and I always get people who stop me and say that I have a nice truck.
