1993 Chevrolet Lumina Z34 3.4 V6

Summary:

Very fast car that seems reliable

Faults:

Right now either my regulator or alternator is shot, trying to figure out which. Bought a new battery yesterday, but the light on the dash is still on. So now have to get someone with a voltage meter to check for me.

I also have a pretty bad leak from the power steering pump, haven't gotten to that yet.

Oh, and the driver door doesn't open.

I could really make a list!!

The guy I bought it from was NOT mechanical, and just drove it as his winter beater.

The interior is in excellent shape and the body is pretty good. And it's FAST! Wow...

Gas mileage sort of sucks, but hey, I have a driver's door to figure out and an alternator to replace - doesn't sound easy.

General Comments:

So far really like car, but whomever designed the the heat controls, needs to take a class. They are so far away from the driver in an otherwise good decently designed cabin.

1993 Chevrolet Lumina Base 3.1

Summary:

It's pretty nice for the 800 I spent

Faults:

Eats the big bubble tires on the 14in rims, so I put 16in Mustang rims on it.

Seats have rips and tears, but not too bad.

Oil pan gasket is going, but I just keep adding oil.

Rear shocks - when I got it.

After market radio and speakers - when I got it.

O2 sensor - 132k miles.

3 spd trans went at 165k with absolutely no warning!

Crank sensor - 136 k miles.

Rocker panels pretty much eaten away totally by rust.

Dash pad lifting up.

Heat doesn't work.

Brake pedal sticks, and no one can figure out why.

General Comments:

Could use a fold down back seat.

Nice big trunk - (was) got 3 12s in it LOL.

Spacious interior and comfortable.

Boring looking interior.

The speedo says 85, but I bury it all the time with no problems. GPS says it tops out at 115.

Had it stolen about 4 months ago, and they got away from the police in it.

Performance is pretty good for a big old sedan.

Seats 6 - a plus when I go down to Cedar Point.

No cup holders - sucks.

Loose steering - comparable to a huge pick up truck LOL.

Motor - no knocks ticks or noise, other than when you first start it up when it's like 5 below; the belt put out a quiet squeak.

I ran straight pipe from the motor back, and gave it about 20 more hp/.

1993 Chevrolet Lumina Z34 3.4

Summary:

It's awesome, excellent, and super fast!

Faults:

I just recently bought my car on December 12th 2008 and I love it.

I was on my way to work on the 14th and rolled my car. It was scary, but Chevy's are built tough so I didn't total it. I had to replace both rear view mirrors, the windshield, and the drivers side window.

Before I bought the car, the owner had to fix the front right tie rod because it was loose. Other than that, the only thing that I really have to fix is my calipers and brake pads for front and back are going out, and I need rear shocks, but what do you expect for a 1993 Chevy Lumina with only 95,000 miles that runs like a champ?

Also I have to put new plugs and wires in it because the previous owners never gave the car a tune up, and it had all original from the manufacturer.

General Comments:

I love my car. It is honestly my first car that I have owned, and the best car that I have ever driven.

I would never sell it, I almost want to buy one for my husband because he really likes my car so much!

My car takes off and leaves my shoes behind; it has some major turbo action going on!

Chevy's rock!
