2000 Chevrolet Monte Carlo LS 3.4 V6

Summary:

The absolute best car choice I've ever made!

Faults:

I had to replace the starter at 85000 miles.

That is all it has been in for.

However there is a semi-loud noise that seems to come from the front tires. I had my mechanic look at it and he couldn't find anything wrong. It seems to be getting louder the longer I have it.

Many little power equipment problems. Nothing serious though.

My bright red paint seems to be fading on the front end.

General Comments:

This is one of the best cars I have ever owned (and I've had 29 cars)!

I love the way it looks! The body has so many distinctive lines and shapes everywhere you look.

My interior is black, which I don't care for. But it is so comfortable and the heated seats are great in the winter. My car has every opt you can think of (except the fuel thirsty 3.8 L)! I just love spending as much time as possible in it.

Except the loud front end problem, this car also drives great! It rides like a luxury car, but still looks so sporty.

I was nervous to trade in my dead reliable Mazda for a GM model considering their reputation. However this car and been just as reliable (even more so!) and a thousand times more fun then the old Mazda! My next car will be an Impala, so I can have all these good qualities with the two extra doors!

2000 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS 2.8 3.8

Faults:

I purchased a 2000 Monte Carlo SS.

I really like the looks of the car.

But the problems seem to be "never ending".

The service that I get from the dealerships is unacceptable.

When I purchased the vehicle, I wanted to get rid of my used car and used car headaches.

But in return, I got a new car with a large payment and a lot of headaches.

Problem 1- The radio would not play my Cd's without skipping.

Problem 2- When driving down the road at about 45mph the car would start to chug and act like it was missing.

Problem 3- My drivers side seatbelt was broken, had to replace entire belt.

Problem 4- I tried to turn my radio down using my steering wheel controls, the controls would not work.

Problem 5- While driving at night, at normal speed limit, slow down to make a turn, when brakes are applied, lights flicker for a second. Have never had this problem fixed.

Problem 6- Arm rest is looking warn, due to just resting my arm.

Problem 7- Clunking noise in front end while traveling at low speed and while turning.

Problem 8- Driver side window control quit working.

Problem 9- Front end repair. Shortly after I purchased the car.

As I stated in the beginning of this letter, I wanted a new car so I would not have as many headaches as owning a used vehicle.

With all the problems I've had with this new car on top of making quite a large monthly payment, I often wander what I was thinking.

I really like how the Monte Carlo looks, but with all the problems I've had and am still having.

Looks aren't everything.

All of your problems seem to be minor. My Monte, Carlo SS

2000 has worse problems. 1st. the car works great and then all of a sudden just doesn't start. And I can't find what is wrong with it! after about 30-40 minutes it starts up again. And it will be like that for about a two weeks and then it does it again.
