2015 Dodge Journey 2.4L
Summary:
Overall a decent SUV that provides what I need
Faults:
While looking for a replacement car I came across this 2015 Dodge Journey at a very reasonable price. The fan had gone bad and the engine overheated. Needed the head gasket, intake manifold and the fan replaced at 121,000 miles.
General Comments:
After replacing the parts the car runs and drives great. I have worked on cars for over 50 years and I love the ease of working on the 2.4 liter motor. Everything is easy to work on. Does have the bad location of the battery behind the drivers tire.
After owning a Volvo XC70 I love the ease of finding parts at lower prices. The 17 inch tires give a smooth highway ride. The 2.4L has good gas mileage. Happy it has a timing chain and not a belt. The 2.4L is not plagued by the bad 3.6L transmission problems.
I am not a Dodge fan, but this model is one of the better Dodge options.

It's good to know that this car — as bland, boring, ungainly, slow, pretentious, and fundamentally compromised by design as it is — is at least reliable. If it’s more reliable than a Pacifica, one could make a case it had a reason to exist in FCA’s lineup at the time.
