1994 Dodge Shadow Base 2.2 liter 4-cylinder

Summary:

Not as fast as a Viper, but a damn good car!

Faults:

Slammed the car into a dirt bank and blew out the oxygen sensor.

Blew the transmission at 88,000 miles.

Blew the suspension after ramping the car off railroad tracks at 90+ MPH.

General Comments:

It is a great car and should not be underestimated by anyone.

Everything that has gone wrong with it has been completely my fault.

I drive it like I hate it, even though I love it to death.

Handles extremely well considering I drive it like my Dodge Viper.

Sometimes, I feel like taking the Shadow out for a cruise more than the Viper.

OVERALL, A VERY, VERY FUN CAR TO DRIVE, EVEN WHEN YOU OWN A DODGE VIPER!

1994 Dodge Shadow ES 3.0 V6

Summary:

Very awesome, I suggest getting one now!

Faults:

Well... the CV joints broke, which is likely since they don't last forever.

My Serpentine belt almost broke, which is the previous owners fault for not putting it on straight.

My vents won't change, it is stuck on defrost and floor vents (gladly defrost cause I need it in the winter months).

A/C doesn't work, I think it just needs to be recharged.

Stabilizer bar in the rear is really bent and I don't know why.

I was stupid and ran the car with no oil for almost 2 weeks, gladly it still runs but I really hope I didn't screw anything up in the engine. If you have information on what I can do to make sure nothing is wrong with it, like diagnostics or anything please email me at jharp@briefcase.com, I would really appreciate it.

I hear lots of glunks and rattles from the body, it seems to be normal after reading different reviews.

My radio stopped working in it (it was the stock one) so I just replaced it with a CD player.

I think the tires on it are stock and they are ugly and very worn out. I need new ones!

This is my first car and I love it! I wish it had an oil pressure gauge on it though. I am paranoid when it comes to oil pressure (don't ask).

General Comments:

I love my car, no doubt about it. I paid 2700 dollars and I plan on purchasing another one exactly like it, but a 1992 for spare parts or just to beat on.

The car is quite fast and have found myself going over 100 mph frequently. What can i say? It likes the speed! and so do I... I have only got it to go 110 but I assure you it had plenty of foot room beween the pedal and the floor.

Very high performance and very cheap to run. I go through a lot of gas though. I am always driving it!

Hello!

I own a 1994 Dodge Shadow sedan four door. It's maroon. I really love my car but a car dealer in Albuquerque N.M. is asking me to buy a 1998 Ford Escort ZX2.

I really want the car he is trying to sell to me, but I love my Shadow. It's kinda childish to name it, but I named my Shadow. I named it the "Lightning", it has lightning stripes on the hood.

What should I do? He is bringing the car to me in Socorro N.M. I'm thinking of keeping my Shadow and still buying the Ford. Well, writing to you now makes me feel better! Now I got rid of this stress on my head with talking to you. You haven't even said anything to me but I have made my mind. I'm going to buy it!!! Thank you for everything! Now with talking to you, I can get my best, best friend to buy her 2002 Ford Mustang Convertible.

Thank you a lot!!!

Sincerly,

Laura McBride

1994 Dodge Shadow ES 3.3 V6 turbo

Summary:

High performance wheels

Faults:

Oxygen sensors.

Aalignment.

For some reason the rims seem to fade.

General Comments:

Very fast car!!!! I installed a turbo which makes it get to 60 in about 6 seconds flat. Can beat some Camaros and Mustangs. I extended the frame a bit and installed a 3.3 instead of the regular 3.0.

I would recommend this car to anyone!

If I had the cash, I'd let you drop a turbo 3.3 in my manual-trans Sundance. I'd finally get those Honda owners to swallow their words!

I have a duster 94 with the 3 liter and was very interested in a turbo myself I would appreciate any info you could give me, I am also looking for a 5 speed to drop in to replace my automatic, but have had no luck at all finding one. by the way what did your 3.3 come out of???
