2000 Ford Mustang V6 3.8

Summary:

Big bang for the buck

Faults:

Nothing.

General Comments:

This car has amazing reliability. I can wake up in the morning knowing the car will always start. I have not had one thing wrong with it. The car is sporty, it handles awesome, accelerates, the manual makes it much more fun.

It is cheap to operate. The only money I spend on it is gas and oil.

For the price you cannot beat the mustang.

2000 Ford Mustang Convertible V6

Summary:

A reliable, great looking car

Faults:

Until last month, I have had no problems with the vehicle. The passenger door lock is sticking.

General Comments:

I am very pleased with my 2000 Ford Mustang Convertible.

It has never been to the garage for repair, the gas mileage is excellent - even better than the small Toyota that I previously drove, and it has plenty of pick-up.

I love the retro look of the car, and believe that it is the best convertible choice in its price range.

2000 Ford Mustang GT 4.6L

Summary:

No trash talking about this Stang

Faults:

Nothing has gone wrong at all.

General Comments:

I heard a lot of trash talk about Mustangs. I was a little hesitant about purchasing one, but that all changed when I took it for a test drive. The experience changed my perspective. This car is incredible, reliable and looks very sharp. Unlike the regular Mustang with the 3.0L V6 my GT runs a beefy 4.6L V8 which really rips when it hits the sweet spot on the RMP's running a 0-60 in 5.8 seconds.

How can you judge reliabitly when you've only driven 1500miles. The trash talk on these cars exists for a reason. Ford pumps these cars out like hell and at a minimun of cost. Go easy on your car, they don't last long if you drive them hard.

I don't understand why all these people are buying these cars. Sure they look nice on the outsides, but the interior is junk, and the performance is lacking. The Mustangs can't compete with the GM's. Sure you save money going with the Ford's, but you get what you pay for. And most Stang owners don't know what their missing. Spend the little extra and get a nice 5.7L Trans Am. Nothing like doing the 1/4 mile in 12.9 stock. Even my buddy's stock 95 beats the newer GTs.

2000 Ford Mustang GT 4.6 V8

Summary:

Built Ferd Tu-ff, Gas Hog

Faults:

I had to replace the plugs and wires already, the car was missing badly and it was in mint condition.

I had to replace the fuel pump on it at 40,000.

General Comments:

This car was nothing like I've heard.

Gas mileage was terrible, be lucky to get 17 highway and 12 in town.

I used this car to drive to college, the only thing it did was cost me a ton of gas money.

Wow! A muscle car that gets bad gas mileage, that's unheard of.

Seriously, what kind of mileage did you think you were going to get with a heavy V8 powered pony car?

2000 Ford Mustang 3.8

Summary:

Great fun/reliability for reasonable price

Faults:

Had one recall for parking brake. Fixed for free. Have had no other problems.

General Comments:

The car is fun to drive. Quite peppy with the base V6 engine plus very good on fuel.

The car attracts many people who comment on it's good looks.

No other car offers this much value for the money.

It depends what you value. It's a bargain if you want a cool looking car for 3 years. It sucks if you want a fast car or a car for more than 3 years.

Ford originally made its car parts so that the whole car would wear out at once so that used parts couldn't be salvaged for other cars.

Ford's new strategy is to build cars so that they require major repairs shortly after the warranty expires.

A common problem I've read about and experienced twice with my Mustang is with the transmission (manual AND automatic). I have an automatic and mine's died twice. The second you even suspect you may have a problem with your transmission, if you're within your warranty period, take it to the dealership and insist that they do something about it, because it will die.
