1995 Geo Metro Hatchback 1.0 L3 SOHC

Summary:

Hood tore off in the car wash because of the rust.

Hazards failed from working.

Head gasket blew at 58000 miles.

Breaks failed to break at stop sign, which lead the car crashing into the fence.

Windshield cracks when in the car wash.

General Comments:

This car is a piece of crap! Even my Ford Fiesta was better. Never buying a rusty old Metro again!

Well I have had my 95 Geo Metro for a year now and I don't have anything bad to say.

Now mine is not full of rust! You should have known better then to buy a car full of rust!

I am purchasing a Geo Metro this Wednesday. It has 180000 miles on it, and is still extremely dependable. It is extraordinarily inexpensive, yet it's an amazing car. I don't think you should come to such a quick conclusion. Any rusty, old, car is not going to be a good experience!

1995 Geo Metro LSi 1.3 Liter 4 cylinder

Summary:

A cute and quick little car that's a pleasure to drive

Faults:

Air conditioning system failed (three separate leaks) at about 65000. Crack in exhaust manifold that would not pass emissions. Air bag system light came on and would not go out, or pass inspection. These are the only things I've had it in to service for (not counting tires). I do everything else, which has included replacing two very rusty front brake rotors when I first bought it and brake shoes a couple of times. The only time it EVER stranded me was when I broke a (cheap aluminum copy) key off in the ignition.

General Comments:

This is a VERY reliable car. It could use a bit more power to carry four people or power the A/C, but otherwise it is just fine.

PS: To other 1995 Geo drivers - after hunting for a LOOOONG time for a manual for my model and year, without any luck, I finally found an original (1000+ pages) GM dealer service shop manual on e-bay.

1995 Geo Metro LSI Coupe 1.0 3 cylinder

Summary:

Geo goes zoom zoom zoom

Faults:

Starter went out, but it was under warranty at the time.

General Comments:

Great little car. It zooms up the highway so easily you would think it had a 6 cylinder instead of the 3 banger it has.

The gas mileage is great in this car, I can fill it up for $10.00 and go for two weeks almost and I travel around a lot.

I love the stereo, it has a CD player and cassette both on the same radio.

The air-conditioning is ice cold and blows out real strong so it cools fast on these hot summer days.

Tires are cheap and they last forever.

I love this little car and I can never part with it, it has never let me down in all the years that I've had it.

1995 Geo Metro LSI Sedan 1.3

Summary:

Comfortable small car

Faults:

A/C had to be worked on a few times, front and rear brakes.

The most expensive thing was the engine that had to be replaced, it seems the oil pan starting leaking and I wasn't aware of it, anyway a friend of mine borrowed the car and drove it into the city, anyway when he got back the engine was destroyed. I replaced the whole thing.

General Comments:

Comfortable small car.

1995 Geo Metro Base 1.0 3 cylinder

Summary:

Metros last just as long as a Civic or Corolla

Faults:

Nothing severe. Basic things - tires, brakes, muffler.

General Comments:

I love this car in the winter, but it's a very good summer car if you want A/C.

In the last few days I've been close to complete road rage because my car can't keep up with traffic, I love the car but it just doesn't have the power that new cars have these days. I'm working with 55hp when most cars come with at least 110 these days, so I don't know what to do, I wish that I at least had the 79 hp four cylinder engine.
