1992 Geo Prizm Base 1.6

Summary:

One of the best cars I have bought at an auction

Faults:

Had to replace the head gasket after driving it 500 or so miles. The car has been fine since with no problems. The car was a 1 owner and not driven much.

General Comments:

Great car, good fuel mileage, and should run for a long time.

1992 Geo Prizm Base 1.6?

Summary:

It's a Toyota, any questions???

Faults:

I know, I haven't owned this car for long time, but I bought it from a close friend who was the original owner, nothing's gone out yet!

The only thing we had to buy new is the exhuast system because it was rusted out. Also put new radio and speakers in, the last one was crap.

It needs new rear suspension and a paint job. It took two buff jobs to make it from chalk pink to red again ha-ha.

This car has 237xxx miles, you're going to have those small problems ya no. What car do you know is this reliable? Close to none.

General Comments:

Peppy around town, but not getting on the interstate.

Loud cabin noise, but I can take it.

Fun to drive, nice seats and good set up for interior cluster, ha-ha would like more than just 2 cup holders.

You know the power steering is there with its whine.

It's roomy for a small car to, I'm 6'2" and fit nicely. WOULD DRIVE IT ANYWHERE!

It's a TOYOTA CLONE, BUY ONE WHEN YOU SEE ONE!

1992 Geo Prizm LSi 1.6 DOHC

Summary:

Dependable

Faults:

Radiator fans stay on (after hitting a deer) - no fault of the car, that deer was suicidal.

General Comments:

Changed to Mobil 1 Extended life (15,000 miles between oil changes) runs like a top, going to give the beast a tune-up, pulstar spark-plugs, K&N air filter, should get better gas mileage and performance. In the future I will be upgrading the exhaust manifold, and switching to open air filter.

1992 Geo Prizm lxi 1.4 DOHC 16v

Summary:

Amazing Beast that doesn't quit

Faults:

I have only had minor problems with this car when I bought it it needed new tires which were cheap seeing as the car only has 13" wheels on it. I had a small problem with the radiator, but I seemed to have by passed it by just adding water every couple of days. Other than that I have had no problem other than the fact that my drivers door leaks because it does not fit right because of an accident previous to me owning the car.

General Comments:

I absolutely love this car, I paid $150 for it. and I am not complaining it is an amazing beast. it has been hit from almost every angle and still gets 40mpg highway, 25 mpg city, (just in case you were wondering) I have added a new CD player because the old radio did not work very well and I need music. the back seat is a little bit small, but the only person who rides there is my little brother so it does not seem to bother him. I bought the car off of my sisters boyfriend who got t-boned last years just before Christmas and he was not hurt and the car still runs amazingly. I have thought about replacing the engine with something a little bit faster, but I thought twice about it because it is to good of an engine to let it go, at least not until it finally dies. this car is an amazingly good car and I would buy another one in a second if I had the chance or the money.

1992 Geo Prizm GSi 1.6

Summary:

A well built, dependable, economic automobile that is quick and agile

Faults:

Ripped rubber boot on drive axle.

Faded paint.

Broken door handles and glove box.

Exhaust and muffler (Damn Michigan winters)

Erratic idle problem with cold engine at 160,000 miles (right now)

Leaking radiator.

Alternator went bad.

General Comments:

Everything that required repair could be considered normal wear and tear considering Michigan winters, lack of a garage and driving it so hard.

Almost everyone who sat in the car found it surprising how "zippy" it was.

It handles nice, it's low to the ground and light.

It's great on gas which is nice during these times ($2.70/Gallon)

Lots of space in the trunk and the front seats are big enough, back seat is kinda crowded, but I never sit in the back so :)
