2000 Honda Accord LX 2.3 I4

Summary:

The best 4 door sedan made for the money

Faults:

Nothing. Runs like a Rolex. The shocks respond as well as when the car was brand new, the gas mileage is better than quoted (I routinely get 35+ on the highway and that's at 70+ mph) and she performs so well, that I have to ask myself why I bought a 1995 Audi A6, this is a better car expect for luxury accouterments and status. Great sound system. The seats are very supportive, but a little flat (I realize America is gaining weight and needs flatter seat bottoms to accommodate same)

General Comments:

If I could change one thing about the car, I would like more torque immediately off the line, at off idle. I readily admit that I am a victim of GM/Chrysler V-8's of yesteryear and often forget that an inline 4 is not a V-8. The mid-range torque and rush to redline from the VTEC engine are WELL worth the slight off idle torque deficiency. I notice this only because I have the 5 speed, an automatic model does not reveal this engine characteristic. The solution is rev the engine a few hundred rpm's and the problem; isn't. The ease and smoothness of shifting of the 5 speed are as good as it gets at any price for any vehicle.

General Comments:

The 2000 accord v-6 model has many problems for a new 25.000$ car! Stay clear of this model! We have had many bad experiences with honda customer service. We call and they hang up on us because we are taking notes. Is this customer service?

I have a 2000 V6 coupe, and it is a wonderful car. I have had absolutely no problems with it, and it has almost 30 thousand miles on it. It appears you have just picked out a lemon, because I owned a 92 accord prior to my 2000 accord, a nd my mother owns a 98 civic, and I never had any problems with any of those either.

2000 Honda Accord EX 4 cylinder VTEC

Summary:

Reliable, worry-free transportation with a hint of sportiness

Faults:

My power moon-roof jams when you try to close it.

The back-light in the clock stopped working.

The paint is peeling off of grille emblem.

General Comments:

The car feels very solid and everything in the interior feels well built.

The seating position and arm rest are a little awkward for taller drivers.

The car has started every time I've gotten in it! This is a major improvement over my GM vehicles.

Resists door dings MUCH better than my previous imports have.

2000 Honda Accord LX 2.3 liter 4 cylinder

Summary:

A nice looking car but very poor quality

Faults:

Rattles coming from everywhere from the 1st day.

Warped front brake rotors after a couple of thousand miles.

General Comments:

This car is a piece of junk. It developed one rattle after another from day one. Unacceptably poor quality. Sounds like it is falling apart sometimes.

Good on gas and nice styling are its only good points. Been to the dealer too often for a new "quality" car.

I bought a 2000 Honda Accord and had the same problem too, I thought that the manufacturer would cover this. The paint came off in three different spots. They said that they could only cover the spots that the paint came off. The place that I had a estimate done said that this seems to be a common problem with that year. Honda still won't cover the whole thing. Honda does not stand behind their product.

I brought my rattling complaints to the dealership within the first week of owning my Y2K EX coupe. They basically put double-sided tape between contact surfaces in the areas that I complained about. Two years went by before I learned to tolerate it--mainly because I had decided to get another car. It reminds of my past frustration to hear others complain about the same thing.
