2003 Honda Accord EX 240 hp V6

Summary:

A high performance, comfortable sports coupe

Faults:

My major complaint is rattles. It had a rattle in the trunk, a noisy sun visor and now a door buzz. The dealer, after three attempts, repaired the first two. The third has been elusive.

General Comments:

Engine performance and handling qualities are superb. The V6 is smooth, quiet and responsive.

However, when needing immediate power, the automatic transmission hesitates as if trying to decide whether to downshift. Once it makes up its mind, hold on tight.

I hear a lot of road noise, a howl which sounds like noisy tires. Either I'm spoiled from having had a Mercedes for 13 years, or the Honda is less well insulated, or, my real suspicion, the Bridgestone tires are noisy.

My 2004 Accord V6 is running well, apart from some minor rattles, as is evidenced from other owners. The annoying door rattle was fixed last week after 10K, including alignment of the same drivers door, which stuck out. Slight rattle in passenger vent was lubricated and loose vent slat was replaced. Still slight rattle from vent. Glovebox buzzes on some harsh surfaces, but only occasionally. Finally CD seemed to cut out after 20 minutes on some CD - but this seems to be ones recorded on computer. Will keep an eye on CD. Otherwise it's a great car and no other issues.

2003 Honda Accord EX-L 5 Speed 2.4L

Summary:

Rock Solid

Faults:

Air intake breather pipe recall and the power drivers seat rocking in its track.

Otherwise, no problems.

General Comments:

This new Accord is terrific. It is comfortable, quiet, and tracks down the road with precision. The interior materials are high quality.

The 4 cylinder/manual trans. combo is quick, smooth and gets 34 mpg as a bonus.

Just wondering if the power driver's seat rocking in its track is a typical problem with these cars? I have an '03 EX-L 5-speed automatic, and I haven't noticed a rocking, but surely the seat is not in its place as firmly as it could be. Should I take it to the dealer and have it looked at? 2003 Honda Accord V6 240 hsp.

Summary:

A well designed, high performance bargain

Faults:

I've had two relatively minor problems.

The floor carpeting did not fully extend to the passenger side edge of the floor (about 1/4 " short). Honda replaced the entire carpet quickly, free.

Driver's side visor rattled. Honda replaced visor at no charge.

General Comments:

My best Honda yet!

Smooth, very powerful ride. You can really feel the 240 horsepower engine.

Responsive steering and great overall handling. Best of all, the traction control on my V6LX really makes a difference on snow covered roads. This Accord handled significantly better in snow and on the open road than my previous Accords.

.Very good sound system which masks road noise effectively.

The inside cabin has a fair amount of road noise.

2003 Honda Accord LX-V6 3.0

Summary:

There are much fewer cons in this car than pros

Faults:

So far, this car has a small grinding sound in the engine, this had become obvious within two weeks of use. Other than the noise, the driver side adjustable seat belt has stopped working.

General Comments:

If you don't mind the small noise, the 6 cylinder, 240 horsepower engine runs incredibly smooth. It heats up really fast, which is good for Canadian winters. It is a very fast, smooth, and comfortable car. The graphite pearl is a very nice and fancy color.

The grinding noise is a self check on the ABS system I had that problem and was going nuts over it, but that's what I was told it was.

2003 Honda Accord EX.V6 3.0 V6

Faults:

My Honda Accord EX.V6 has just over 23,000 miles and has been to the Honda dealer (Nanuet, Honda, NY) for over five times. They have changed the brakes twice, but still rattles like an old car. I have problems with the brakes lights on The dashboard, they come on and off by it self. Driver and passenger windows all rattle too. The heater fan makes you feel, that you are in a helicopter. When I went to my Honda dealer, they gave me a list of noises, (which is OK for the car to make), they were over five pages (Hello).

General Comments:

This is the worst thing I have experienced. Now I know, why Honda Accord 2003 has only 36,000 miles warranty.
