2005 Honda Accord EX-L 4 cylinder.

Summary:

Feels like a luxury sedan without the luxury price!

Faults:

Small rattle noise from front passenger window/door frame. Read an earlier review that mentions cleaning the top of the window out. Will have to try that because I am a freak about my cars.

General Comments:

Owned an Odyssey and was VERY displeased with all the things that went wrong with it. I sure hope that was an Odyssey problem and not a Honda problem.

Very impressed with the EX as it has all the creature comforts with less price.

I also own a 1998 Lexus ES300 and this Honda has much of the same "luxury" qualities of the Lexus.

However, I wish the sunroof had an automatic button that, when depressed, would open the sunroof in one push of the button instead of having to hold the button down. Odd.

The front seats are somewhat "narrow". By narrow I mean that the large cushions on the sides of the back seem to push on my sides. I am not overweight so this seems odd.

2005 Honda Accord LX

Summary:

I would definitely recommend to friends/family

Faults:

Pretty much nothing. Everything's in great shape, except my daughter backed into a pole. The engine is still running great, there are no problems mechanically.

General Comments:

This car has great gas mileage

Handles great

Brakes are a little touchy, it's something you have to get used to, but not bad

Very, very spacious

Took it in for a complete tune-up and they told me the engine was in great condition, and it was a car they recommend to people looking for a reliable, affordable, family car

Retains it's re-sell value

Great purchase for a college student, too, I'm even looking at one for my daughter.

It even has these hooks on the floor, so the mats don't ride up or slip around. How handy!

2005 Honda Accord Hybrid 3.0 Liter

Summary:

This car has truly exceeded my expectation in performance, economy, and reliability

Faults:

I've only taken this car to the dealer once just to tighten a bolt on the steering wheel column.

General Comments:

This car is an excellent choice for consumers who are not willing to give up size and performance in place of economy.

I have 79,000 trouble free and dealer free miles on the car right now.

Gas mileage averages for city (between 28 and 32) and highway (between 36 and 42) driving are around 32 mpg if you drive this car like a hybrid and not like Speed Racer.

The cabin is comfortable and quiet as long as you have good tire treading. However, when treading is low, there is a slight roaring noise (to people with sensitive hearing) which can be heard inside the cabin.

The navigation system is excellent and is very user friendly.

The sound system could use better speakers; I would rate the sound system below average.

This car is great for long distance driving. I've driven around 530 miles on one tank and had enough gas left over to safely make it to a gas station 50 miles away. My trip to Detroit from Atlanta averaged 39 mpg which was excellent.

2005 Honda Accord Economy 2.4

Summary:

Best bet for the money

Faults:

The car is generally a very good car, but I could not believe when I had my left front bearing failed at 3200 miles. Dealer was very nice and replaced both front bearings, but this leaves me with a question abou quality of this car. I hope this was on of those where only the bearings were messed up when manufactured. Other than that there were no problems with this car.

General Comments:

Very good car for the money. I paid $ 15,700 for a new one in august of 2005 in Schaumburg, IL.

The price you paid for a car is amazing, people are beginning to forget that humans make these car parts and we all know the type of mistakes humans make. Surely you had an issue with the bearings, however Honda replaced it and in most cases Honda parts do last. And yes I know in some cases the quality has fallen, however the prices for the replacements parts (aftermarket or OEM) are fairly reasonable.
