2006 Honda Civic LX 1.8

Summary:

Not perfect, but certainly the Best Choice in its class

Faults:

Nothing. Except the manual transmission / clutch might have a problem.

General Comments:

I really like the car, the style, the driving compared to what I had before, but I expected a little bit more from Honda. I feel like it's hard to change gears sometimes. The clutch is not has "quick" has the other manual cars I've driven before. Usually I can switch speed pretty fast, but with this one I have to do it smoothly. I guess I'll get used to it! Other than that, I really like the style, the steering wheel response and the performance is good if we compare to other cars in its class.

2006 Honda Civic DX

Summary:

Fun Spirited Fuel Economy Car On Good Road Conditions

Faults:

This car does not perform well in adverse weather conditions. I live in New Hampshire and the winter weather is no place for a Civic. It will not go up or down hills with the slightest snow or ice. The car is very light in weight which is great for the amazing gas mileage however a strong wind will lift this vehicle off the ground. It is very scary to drive the Civic if it is raining hard, snowing, or icing.

General Comments:

The car is a delight in nice weather conditions. I get superior gas mileage. I can drive 460 miles on a tank of gas. The car becomes very difficult to handle in tough climate conditions.

There is more cargo room than one would expect inside a Civic. When the rear seat is down extending the trunk into the cabin; there is ample room to carry luggage, tools, groceries, etc...

2006 Honda Civic EX 1.8

Summary:

It's a good car if you don't happen to hit a pot hole

Faults:

After getting into a pot hole (not a bad one), I was just driving at like 30km/h and my front right tire assembly bent completely.

I have hit pot holes with other cars and they ended up being OK.

The speakers at the back are loose and noisy.

And always had some rattles and noises.

General Comments:

It is a nice looking car, but in terms of robustness it's not very strong.

2006 Honda Civic DX-G

Summary:

Exceeds expectations!!

Faults:

The auto unlock on the passenger's side door went, but was replaced under warranty right away by the dealership. This was apparently a common defect for this year and nothing has happened since!

General Comments:

I'm thrilled with my Civic! I had an older Civic before purchasing this one and this has exceeded my expectations. Sure, it could go a bit faster or have a bit more guts in some situations, but for everyday use it is perfect. I found the automatic to have a lot less power, but the standard I got solved that problem. I live in BC, so hills and mountains are everywhere!! My Civic climbs them easily, I'm thrilled!

The seats are comfortable and the coupe even has a decent amount of room in the back seats (not for anyone over 6' mind you). Honda takes great care of their customers and I'm very happy overall.

I consider a car's being able to ride hills and mountains as reasonable expectations and not exceeding expectations. You did buy a brand new car after all!

I totally agree with Honda service, they do take good care of customers, show they want our business. I had my Civic for few months now, stick, although it came with winter tires, I right away bought 17 inch rims and put some sporty rubber on it. The car handles really well, for a base model Civic, wow.

I find the car slightly noisy in general, but that's the rubber noise from the type of tire I have. Really great on gas, and yes I do live in BC as well, tons of mountains and hills, no hard times at all.
