1994 Isuzu Trooper SE 3.2

Summary:

Love the car, wish they still made it

Faults:

No major problems other than a little valve noise.

General Comments:

Great car for the price. if you do regular maintenance; oil, plugs, brakes etc... this car will run forever.

1994 Isuzu Trooper SUV

Summary:

I love this car

Faults:

I am the original owner of this 1994 Isuzu Trooper.

Just returned from a trip to the Outer Banks of North Carolina where we drove on the beach every day. This car preforms very good in the sand... (An snow if we ever get an more in New Jersey where I live).

2 water pumps

Lugs were broken off by mechanic when new brakes were put on at about 70,000 miles

Transmission part was replaced around 140,000

Key entry on Drivers door is broken, have to enter from the passenger side. (170,000 miles when this happened)

Leaks oil. (All my cars have leaked oil)

Only 1 speaker on the radio works since about 70,000 miles. So listening to music is not a good option in this car.

Passenger side window cannot be put down from drivers side panel, so you have to reach over to put the window down... (It will go up).

I hate that the car does not have arm rests, so when I travel long distances I bring 3 pillows to wedge between the driver and passenger seats.

I consider all these issues just a car getting older.

General Comments:

I love this car and plan to run it into the ground hopefully at around 300,000 miles. When I have to say goodbye to this car, I will try to purchase a another.

1994 Isuzu Trooper LE V6

Summary:

It has it's ups... but I've had nothing but downs. Kinda like life; we have ups and downs

Faults:

We bought the truck after it was severely damaged in the front and repaired.

We had it about (4 months) and the timing chain tensioner spring broke, so it needed repaired. That was $700.00.

Then the rear right inner wheel bearing; $30.00.

And now the transmission is out and that will cost us $1500.00.

So since we bought it $1500, and I'm starting to think it wasn't worth it.

730

------ it's sat for 3 years

2230

General Comments:

The truck runs good, And drove great.

The only thing with driving, is when you hit a little dip, and the rear squats, the overload bushings have rotted out so it hits body to frame pretty hard!!! Other than that, it's a great ride.

1994 Isuzu Trooper LS DOHC

Summary:

Even with a lot of abuse it looks great and runs well

Faults:

Tie Rod broke (mostly my fault)

Battery replaced.

Brakes, Tires and the usual stuff

No real wear on interior or exterior. Looks 5 years younger than it is.

The black glossy finish scratches up easily, but I think that is normal.

The back door hangs down about 1/2". That is it.

General Comments:

Hi, I have had a great time with this SUV. I drive hard and use this for my AV install business. I load it up every day and drive all over with my truck. It has never let me down. I go fast and take turns hard and the engine, steering and brakes are good. Feels vary sporty. The interior is great and puts up with all the tools and abuse we throw at it. Really fabulous. Quiet and vary comfortable leather seats. It could use a little more power and it is expensive to run, but it is vary reliable even though I drive it vary hard and it is really good off road. Shocked my friends with the Jeep Y J with how good it is and way out performed my friend with a Toyota 4runner.

1994 Isuzu Trooper S V6

Summary:

Good car. durable. strong. unbreakable

Faults:

Oil seeps out of oil covers. Car consumes about 1 quart between 3,000 mile oil changes.

Had to replace all water hoses at about 90K miles. Not bad.

Break wear was standard.

Automatic transmission interlock (which prevents from shifting into Reverse unless the knob is depressed) has failed. It is now possible to shift directly into reverse at any speed. This is a potentially dangerous situation. We try to avoid it.

Four wheel drive works as original.

Power steering hoses just went (120K miles).

Overall, the car is a tank. I plan on buying a newer model at a later date.

We haven't had the roll-over problems associated with Consumer Reports write-up several years ago. I feel that was operator induced.

I'd recommend getting a used Trooper to beat new car over-pricing.

General Comments:

Good overall performance. perform regular (3,000 mile oil/fluid changes) is best way to avoid problems.

We noticed no manufacturer flaws / defects.

There is an after-market third row seat that has three additional seats. we used is many times.
