2001 Kia Rio Standard 1.5

Summary:

A reliable, powerful sub-compact car to accessorize my driving needs

Faults:

To this date, this car has performed extremely well. There have been no problems thus far (and hopefully, there won't be any problems!)

General Comments:

This car has proved me correct in my choice to purchase an attractive, reliable, fun car.

The stereo that came in my car, is also very impressive. Not only does it sound great, it's extremely easy to use. The CD player is also a luxury, given the fact that I am in an area which doesn't pick up many radio stations.

I enjoy my Kia Rio, not only because of the excellent performance, but also the appearance. My Kia model is a beautiful gold color. The paint glimmers in any light, which is an absolute eye catcher. The interior is well set out by contrasting medians, which really makes the Rio's interior live up to its spunky exterior.

I am crossing my fingers that the Kia Rio will do well in snow. Although it has a low clearance, I look forward to using it on my daily commute to work, and for leisure purposes... rain or shine, snow or ice.

2001 Kia Rio 1.5

Summary:

It is the best investment I have made in cars

Faults:

Nothing at all.

General Comments:

I went from Miami to New York when I first bought the car. It drove great and then I drove back. The only thing I did was an oil change and checked the water.

I drive long distance to go to work, an average of 66 miles a day, and the gas is great, I spend $13 every 5 days. It runs perfect for the size of the engine.

Kia cars are great, I am in love with mine. You are very right, mileage is marvelous, I can say it is true, it's a very good investment.

How do you like the manual. I have read they are not so good?

My 5 speed is great, has no problems, can keep up and sometimes take Hondas. 17500 miles since April 1st, so nothing bad about it.

2001 Kia Rio RS 1.5

Faults:

I have yet to have a problem with my Tercel. My Kia Rio I bought it on March 3, 2001 and it has been in the shop 3 times. One time for 4 days and they still say there is nothing wrong. I know cars, I have had about 8 cars, and this is by far the worst lemon I have ever had. No amount of money in the world would get me to buy another Kia product.

When I picked up the car it had scratches on the rear bumper the dealer did not tell me about. I found out the same day when I got it home and was checking out the car. Every time I turned the signal lights on my clock would start to blink too.

My car smells like rotten eggs sometimes. It gets so bad my 7 year old son got sick from it.

My gas mileage went from over 500km's per tank down to 350 to 400km's per tank within three tanks of gas.

Please save you money and get yourself a good Canadian or American car.

General Comments:

Kia sucks.

They just want your money and then they don't want you.

They do not have any regards for people after they've got you.

The cars look good and ride good. But it does not make up for the problems you will have.

My Kia Rio is great, I bought it in February 2001. It is a 2001 Kia Rio and I took it from Miami to New York and back, and it still works great.

The gas is fabulous, I put $13 in and it lasted 5 days, and I drive 33 miles to work and back!

I have a 2001 Kia Rio. I bought it on March 3rd 2001.

When I picked up the car they did not tell me about scratches on the rear bumper.

Every time I turned the signal lights on my clock would blink too.

When I have the car out for a while a lot of the time it will start to smell like rotten eggs.

My gas mileage dropped from about 500KM's to 350KM's per full tank.

I have owned several cars in the past, this is the worst one. I got a new car to get away from all the problems of used cars and this car is worse than any of my used cars that I have ever had. I have tried to talk to Kia on this, they did everything but plain out called me a liar. Since then I have wrote to Kia Canada and they told me that they cannot intervene. Why would any company want someone who is very disatisfied with their product want them to go on being disatisfied? I have only had bad experiences so far with my Kia Rio and servicing.
