2006 Nissan Frontier NISMO V6

Summary:

My favorite truck I've ever driven!

Faults:

Nothing, unless you count a cracked windshield, but that's not the truck's fault.

General Comments:

One word - fast. There is never any want for acceleration in this thing. It handles great, the ride height is sweet and it's the perfect size - I feel like I'm in perfect control of it. And the six-speed tranny was hard to find, but definitely worth it.

Mileage is a little disappointing, though. The best I've seen is about 16-17 mpg. I was hoping for more from Nissan's smaller truck.

The only other thing is the seats... my boyfriend (the truck's actual owner, but I love driving it too) complains that his back hurts after 7-hour trips from Maryland to North Carolina, but I personally think it feels great.

This is a great truck if you don't want a full-size pickup.

2006 Nissan Frontier SE 4.0 Liter V6

Summary:

Buy one!

Faults:

None whatsoever. I've owned the car for nearly a year and it has been the best vehicle I've owned so far out of more than a dozen total.

General Comments:

An excellent truck for the money. Nissan Frontier is the best mid-size truck out there. You'll love the acceleration power of the 4.0 V6 and the stopping power of its 4-wheel disc brakes - the only truck in its class that have it. You're gonna want to take this truck beyond the freeways and into the bushes and rocky terrains. Guaranteed!

I'm sold! I want one!

2006 Nissan Frontier King Cab Nismo 4x4 4.0L V6

Summary:

Best truck in its class by a mile

Faults:

Tailgate fails to close at extremely cold temperatures. (-30 C or colder)

General Comments:

I purchased this truck after just one test drive. I was very impressed with the acceleration and handling on the road. I've had the truck almost a year now, and still haven't been beaten off the line or on the highway by another truck. I have friends with Hemi's who don't even bother trying to keep up to my truck anymore.

I made it through the winter driving on icy logging roads in northern Alberta on the stock Rugged Trail tires, and I've driven through knee deep mud this summer without gearing down to 4 lo or locking the rear axle, so I'm pretty happy with the 4x4 capabilities that the NISMO package provides.

With the Frontier, I've had no mechanical problems, other than the tailgate, which can probably be solved by using a low temp grease on the mechanism, or it could've been the result of ice forming inside the latch.

One downside I've found, is the lack of after market suspension lifts for the truck. I'm hoping they'll come with time. I want to lift this truck and buy the full size Titan once I've paid this truck off in a year or two.

I've driven all the other full size trucks on the market for work, and wasn't impressed with the drivability or overall quality.

I'd recommend Nissan trucks to anyone, and to anyone who complains about buying an import, the Frontier is built in Tennessee.

2006 Nissan Frontier 4.0 V6

Summary:

This Truck Is Awesome!

Faults:

Nothing.

General Comments:

I traded in my 2005 Altima with 49,000 (which I put on it in 18 months) for the Frontier as the Altima never required any warranty work and I am a truck guy who missed having one.

The Frontier is awesome, quiet, smooth, fast and very comfortable. Much more comfortable than the Altima or my Silverado (which I sold also).

The interior is really quiet. Quieter than most cars, but is also quite comfortable. I am 6'0" tall as is both my 15 year old and 12 year old and we all fit very in the truck very well. The seats are great, cushy and the fabric allows for good ventilation which is needed as it frequently gets over 100 degrees where we live in the summer.

The controls have nice large handles that are nicely placed and user friendly. There are also lots of compartments to stash your everyday junk in. The interior looks expensive and sporty.

The 265 H.P. V-6 is one hot ticket. This truck is faster than my fullsize extended cab Silverado ever was. The engine is fast and the automatic transmission shifts very smoothly.

The brakes will stop you fast, but you certainly don't get the feeling they will. I think Nissan needs to do a little work there.

Overall the truck is awesome and I love it.
