1993 Nissan Hardbody Pickup 4X4 4 Cylider

Summary:

Awesome Truck

Faults:

I replaced the transmission @ 110000 miles. ($1000) Also I replaced the E-brake Cable.

General Comments:

This is a killer truck. This truck can handle just about anything. The 5-Speed Manual transmission complements the 4X4 well. This truck has never let me down aside from replacing the transmission, which eventually goes bad on all Nissan trucks. (You just have to deal with it.) Overall this is an awesome truck. I actually think it is indestructible. I bought it 40000 miles on it and it ran like a Benz untBenzil. I sold it with 140,000 miles. I actually sold to a person that I know and it still runs to this day nearing 200,000 miles. I believe that it will make it to 300K. I loved that truck and regret selling it.

I have a 1993 nissan hard body 4x4 with a 2.4 in it, and the truck runs like a top. It's my first truck I have ever owned and I have been places with it you would not even take a ATV or jeep. It's now got 109,000 miles and runs like 1,000. On the coldest mornings I can go out in get in and it only cranks over 2 times and shes ready to hit the trails. I never had a problem other then I had to replace the valve cover gasket. I LOVE THIS TRUCK.

1993 Nissan Hardbody Pickup 4x4 KA24E

Summary:

Good for city driving, but not good for highway use

Faults:

Well somebody put a low pressure line going to the fuel filter so I was lucky I caught it.

Doesn't get very good gas mileage.

General Comments:

Handles like a sports car for its height.

Side windows are poorly tinted.

Transmission is geared way to high even in fifth the engine is racing to just go 65.

If the engine is racing in 5th at 65 mph, I think you mean that the engine is geared to low. If it were geared to high then the engine would be lugging along. Low gears=high rpms, high gears=lower rpms.

1993 Nissan Hardbody Pickup 2.4 liter (KA 24E)

Summary:

Good no frills truck

Faults:

Starter @ 95,000 miles. Transmission went out at 110,000 miles. Airflow sensor bad at 130,000 miles (my fault though). New upper, lower A-arm ball joints, bushings, and 4 new tie rod ends at 135,000 miles, but I credit this to my four wheeling habit. Rebuilt top end of motor last week at 140,000 miles. One front hub has broken.

General Comments:

Good truck.

Reliable and fun.

Enough power to pull trailers and do work.

It's a beast off road.

1993 Nissan Hardbody Pickup SE-v6 3.0 V6

Summary:

A decent if kept stock truck

Faults:

Needed new transmission right when I bought it, $2,000.

Paint was chipping/rusting around 80,000 miles, $2,000.

Lifted truck three inches and all went sour after that. Replaced center link twice (85,000 miles), tie rods twice (85,000).

Motor started knocking around 90,000 miles.

Transmission strated to leak after 90,000 miles. I had to pull the tranny just to get to the seal.

The torsion bars started to sag around 90,000 miles.

Had to get professionally aligned probably a dozen times throughout owning the vehicle.

General Comments:

Started off as a decent, high maintance truck. I should have left the truck stock and not put bigger tires and a lift on. Keep an eye out for the transmission as they are very pricey.

Parts are outrageously expensive on these trucks because they are manufactured outside of the U.S.A.

I probably literally dumped 8K into the truck and only got 3K back out.

I would recommend keeping the truck stock because the front ends are built poorly and any change will result in misery, trust me.

However, keep it stock and treat it right and it should, keyword, should treat you the same.

1993 Nissan Hardbody Pickup Regular Cab 2.4 gasoline I4

Summary:

A very good value

Faults:

I've had to replace a starter relay three times. Usually about 2-3 years.

I replaced the O2 sensor mistakenly. Thought that was the problem, but it was cheap ignition replacement parts.

Always use genuine Nissan ignition parts.

The EGR system clogged up at 146000 miles. The cheap parts above the main reason. The Austin, Tx dealer cleaned the system and fuel injectors. No problem since.

Replaced the clutch at 156000 miles.

General Comments:

This is my second Nissan truck. They are solid reliable vehicles.

When this truck was only a week old I almost destroyed it. Three thousand and some dollars later it was fixed. Not many vehicles would hold up like my Little Red.
