2004 Nissan Quest SL 2.5

Summary:

Not a good value for the money

Faults:

We have had several problems with this car, as follows:

- There was a factory recall on the passenger seat and overhead controls.

- The rear door alarm goes off while driving. The car has been in the shop for this 4 times, with no success.

- This car will not start in colder weather. There is a "cold start" procedure in the owners manual, but even this does not work all of the time. The car has been in the shop for this problem twice, and is still not fixed.

- The automatic sliding side door sometimes closes on its own without warning, and has caught our son's hand twice.

- The tire pressure gauge is faulty, and has been replaced twice.

- The check engine light has been on three times since purchasing this vehicle one year ago. Service has turned it off twice.

General Comments:

We were excited when we first purchased this car. However, we have been sorely disappointed since. The van handles fine, but the other problems out weight the positives by far. We are attempting to get rid of this car as quickly as possible.

There is also a lot of road noise at higher speeds.

The controls on the center console seem appealing at first, but quickly become a nuisance, because they are hard to see and change while driving.

2004 Nissan Quest SE 3.5

Summary:

A great value

Faults:

No problems.

General Comments:

This van has a 240HP 3.5 V6 shared with other Nissan models such as the Maxima and 350Z. It has a 5 speed automatic and 4 wheel disc brakes, all being vented. All of which comes together to make it one fast, responsive van.

In regards to safety, the van has curtain airbags for all passengers, side airbags for front seats, ABS, vehicle dynamics control, traction control, tire pressure monitors, and rear backup sensors.

In regards to comfort and convenience, both sliding doors and the rear hatch are powered. There are grocery bag hooks on the back of the rear seat, and on the back of the driver and passenger front seat. The dual automatic climate control keeps the temperature at your desired setting. All rear seats fold flat into or onto the floor. The second row seats tilt and move back and forth. The second row seats also allow you to move them or tilt them up with a car seat strapped into them via the LATCH car seat system.

The van is very low to the ground, which allows our 3 year old to easily climb in. The overhead console, which reminds me of an aircraft console, has many storage bins and has adjustable air flow vents. The skyview rear roof allows light into the van, if the shades are open, giving the fan an open ambiance. The leather seats are of high quality, and feature lip stitching once popular on leather seats many years ago.

We have experienced no problems, no rattles, and are completely satisfied.

2004 Nissan Quest SL 3.5L

Summary:

The best van for our family!

Faults:

Nothing.

General Comments:

The Quest has lots of room. The ride is very smooth and comfortable. The interior is well thought out and arranged. The power back hatch and side doors open wide and work effortlessly.

The seats fold into the floor and move out of the way easily. A great price for all the amenities you receive: air bags all around, ABS, heated seats, power seats and doorsand tire checker in tires.

The 2004 Nissan Quest has had numerous recalls

Sliding Door (doors popping open unexpectedly)

Leaking Roofs (with sunroofs)

Gear Shift.

I also had such an excessive problem with leaks, rattles and doors that they replaced mine.

No problems you say, you must not own one!
