1993 Pontiac Bonneville SE 3.8 litre

Summary:

I should have bought one years ago!

Faults:

Alternator @ 97000 mi.

General Comments:

I've owned quite a few cars and trucks from Chevelles to Suburbans and many in-between and I must say even though I haven't owned this car long I would and do rate this car very high.

It's me again. I originally bought this car back in Feb. 2000.I'm now @ 120,000 miles and I really love this car. Although this is my playcar (my reg. vehicle is a 95 suburban) I don't ever regret buying it. Since the alt. I've done the 120,000 miles check up which consisted of plugs, wires, tranny flush, the dealership checked everything, and I had the pass front door lock fixed, also grease, oil, filter done. It ran me about $1,150. Still not a bad price considering the total cost of the car.

Faults:

Front struts @ 80,000.

Power seat problem, reclines on own, solenoid replaced.

This car has held up well, body and interior still in excellent shape.

General Comments:

Is a wonderful car, responsive handling with the ride of a larger car.

In a rear-end crash (the other car was traveling in excess of 40 mph, we were at a dead stop) the car held up well, trunk and rear absorbed impact and we had relatively minor injuries. We will be replacing this one with another Bonneville!

I also have a 1993 Pontiac Bonneville SSE. I love this cars performance and handling. The seats doesn't have any wear at all except the drivers side seat entering left arm holding. The car is very voluminous and relaxing. The car can get up and go just as fast as any other vehicle out there. The recent problems that I can think of is the transmission. It was the first time being replaced at 230,000 miles. The power Antenna needs to be replaced but that isn't anything that needs to be done right now. The HUD became unloose because it had dirt in side. The alternator went out when we were on our family vacation in Georgia. I've had to replace the alternator about 3 times and hope the last alternator I put on lasts longer than the car does. When I was little we only drove this car on trips and out of town events. The car has been to Florida 3 times, Georgia 5 times, and Maryland 6 times. Now the car has approximately 240,000 miles. The plastic and paint has held up very well also. This one car that I won't let slip from my head even if I have to replace and engine, let's hope that doesn't happen.
