1993 Pontiac Bonneville SE 3.8L V6

Summary:

Awesome car for anyone of any age, even a 15 year old

Faults:

The seats are worn fairly bad, but no big deal. I don't like the fake chrome trim on the side because the plastic covering has started to peel off. The Mass Air Sensor was replaced at about 90,000 miles. And the original brakes at 110,000 miles.

General Comments:

Great car. Just bought mine the other day and I love the car already. It is a very beautifully styled car, I love the body lines very much. I like the controls on the inside. They are very easy to figure out and use. It is a very sporty car for its age and to be all stock. It has a very good stock stereo system, to. I don't like the honeycomb wheels, though, as they are very hard to clean. The spare tire is kind of hard to get to, as I have to take everything out of the trunk. The interior latches (console, glove box) are very shoddy, as both of mine are broken. The courtesy lights in the door also fall off very easily.

1993 Pontiac Bonneville

Summary:

The best car ever

Faults:

My master cylinder went bad one month after I brought it about 57000 miles.

I have replaced my alternator twice.

I have replaced both of my front rotors.

General Comments:

I love my car the miles were very low when I got it and the miles are still very low for a 1993 car.

I thought I was having so little problems with my car because it was owned by a old lady who didn't drive it much. but after reading other peoples reviews I see this is just a well built car.

Overall my main problem with my car has been my brakes.

My car runs excellent air conditioner, heat.

My car does drink gas like no other.

I also wish my mirrors folded in they sit out far and both have been knocked off while parked.

1993 Pontiac Bonneville SE 3.8 na

Summary:

Great looking and driving car

Faults:

Had to replace alternator at 140k miles.

Front end is starting to feel soft (struts, sway bar bushings).

And it needs the brakes adjusted.

Other than that no major problems just the norm that goes wrong.

1993 Pontiac Bonneville V6

Summary:

EXCELLENT

Faults:

Haven't discovered any.

General Comments:

I bought the car out of desperation after a newer car was stolen from me. This is probably the best car I've ever owned! Plenty of room and drives nice, especially since it has almost 200,000 miles on it. I can drive to and from work for 3 weeks before filling up. (I'm about 13 miles away)

I have been to the dealerships and test drove newer cars, but for some reason, I can't seem to let go of my Bonneville. Helps that my husband is mechanically inclined and keeps it up for me!

You must only drive to work and come back home, never using your car until the next day. Three weeks before filling up seems like a stretch.

Anyway, Bonnevilles have always been great cars. Enjoy it in good health!

1993 Pontiac Bonneville SE 3.8L V6

Summary:

Lots of problems but it hasn't left me hanging

Faults:

Certain buttons in the power seats have gone bad. Only half work.

Replaced passenger side window motor 4 times since I've had it.

Torque converter clutch gave out at 168000 miles. Transmission had to be overhauled because of it.

Crankshaft sensor had to be replaced because of a short that caused the car to shut off in the middle of the highway. Would immediately turn back on if the engine was warm enough.

Oxygen sensor and exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve have had to be replaced, and the thermostat is causing a low coolant sensor signal.

General Comments:

The interior is outstanding, it looks futuristic, at least for a '93 vehicle.

Got me from Kileen, TX to Houston and back (360 miles) every weekend for 20 months without a problem. Still running even with all its problems. I would like to have driven it when it was almost brand new.
