2003 Saturn ION

Summary:

Best car manufactured

Faults:

The cloth seats stain, and that is the ONLY thing wrong.

General Comments:

This is the MOST reliable car in the world. It runs smooth, I have never had to do ANY repairs, and it's at 300,000 miles and running like I first got it... years ago.

It never dents, has been in over 5 accidents, and not a scratch on it, and they were pretty bad accidents.

This is the best car to get for anyone.

300,000 miles...? Wow! Congratulations!

Over five "pretty bad" accidents? Not a scratch? What do you consider a "pretty bad accident"? Don't you think that's a heck of a lot of "accidents" to be involved in in 7 years?

Maybe it's time to do the brakes :)

I have a 2003 Saturn Ion level 2. What type of oil do you use? You have really taken care of your Ion to get 300000 miles; that's great

2003 Saturn ION

Summary:

Reliable car, great for commuting

Faults:

Trunk button inoperable after a few years. It seems to like to go through left turn signal lights a lot. The trunk appears to have a leak on the left side. No other problems.

General Comments:

I have found this car to be very reliable. I have never had to take it in for any failures. I just have it regularly serviced.

I like the centered instrument cluster. It does have more road noise than other cars.

I drive the car daily to commute to work, used to be 120 miles round trip, now I'm doing 80 miles round trip. All of this is interstate driving.

Overall, I have no complaints.

Summary:

This car sucks

Faults:

Man, I agree with a lot of the comments on here.

First off, my blinkers work when they want to; just don't get that!!!

My brakes need to be replaced often, but my newest problem is my hood hook just popped; made the hood fly up and shatter my windshield while driving.

My thought is this car SUCKS, and I would NEVER get another one or advise anyone to.

2003 Saturn ION

Faults:

This car I would NOT recommend for anyone. It was my first car, and I have not even had it for a full year, and my transmission has already given out. Not to mention all of the other problems I have had.

I was driving down the highway going around 72mph, and my car completely died. I had to pull over and restart my car.

My key locks in the ignition quite frequently.

My car will not start for ten minutes when I try to start it.

2003 Saturn ION 1 2.2 ecotec

Summary:

Very reliable

Faults:

Visor won't stay up, hood release cable came out of the handle, and just service stuff (tires, brakes).

General Comments:

I bought this car for my sister. She is very hard on cars. She owned only Hondas and Toyotas in the past. I managed to get her in this, but she was not happy at first (it had no options, manual everything, she did not like that) but in the end she LOVES this car as do I.

I am a mechanic at Mercedes Benz. This car has a cheap interior, but it is a VERY reliable car. All we do is change the oil, do the brakes and service the fluids when we meet the required intervals.

It is a quick peppy car. I am not a fan of newer American cars, but Saturns I love; they are not very elegant, but they seem to be very reliable.

When I service this car for her, I see a quality built engine, a good shifting transmission, and I believe this car will easily go over 200,000 miles.

We have put over 60,000 miles on it since we got it from the first owner, and I must say this is more reliable then the Corollas or Accords she has owned, and she loves the car. I would recommend this car to anyone (after a Subaru Impreza :) )

I see a lot of complaints here, but I guess it's true that people only talk when things go wrong, so I'm sure there are 200 satisfied customers for every 1 negative comment you see here.
