1995 Saturn SC SC2 1.9

Summary:

Plastic joke

Faults:

Well my biggest problem was the alternator.. I've never seen one go out over and over again like this one does. Then the paint on this car is shoddy, it has faded to a dull off color, I always wax every season and still it faded out. The inside is quite cheap as well.

General Comments:

When I bought this car I was looking at a Geo Prizm and the guy at the auto lot said that he thought that the Saturn might would be a better car... that was a bunch of crap. My aunt bought the very Prizm I was going to purchase and to this day she has not had a single problem with it and it still looks new.

I doubt that it is all the cars fault. I think you are expecting too much out of a car. Paint fades, get over it. If you really care that much about the paint job, then get a new one done. It only costs $500 to get a normal paint job on a car. Also, I believe you may be neglecting your car. Most cars need to be cared for, and when you decide to ignore them, they break down and don't work. You can also refurnish the interior if it concerns you that much. Car interior does not fall apart on its own, you must be doing something wrong. Cars do not last forever, especially when mistreated. I guarantee that if you treat the car better, that it will run better.

I agree with this last comment. Your car is only as good as you are to it.

I have a 95 SC2 and have had no real problems with it. That also means the paint job. Now I change my oil every 3000 miles, take care of the brakes, water level, and belts to say a few. I love my car and believe it to be one of the best I have ever owned.

And a GEO doesn't even come close to (and never will) a Saturn! Maybe you just got a car built on a Friday.. LOL. Any brand of car can have big problems. So don't judge all Saturns by one.

I just got a 1995 SC2 and love it. 152,000, new clutch, faded paint. Uses a little oil, 1/2 quart every 3000 miles. Big deal.

Great on gas, peppy and nice looking, great buy for 2,000 dollars, 12 month warranty included free.

Faults:

Motor on sunroof split in 2 pieces for no apparent reason, body paneling is faulty, side mirror is falling off - held on by electrical tape, leather seats are peeling even with the application of leather conditioner.

General Comments:

This car sucks and I will never buy another Saturn in my life.

p.s. The factory speakers are good, however (they bump).

My 1993 SC2 has done 102,000 miles and uses very little oil. If they are well maintained and serviced regularly Saturn Twin Cam engines are very reliable, however they don't respond well to neglect.

I own a 1995 Saturn SC2, and it has 185,000 miles. It burns oil, so what! Just add more! Take care of your car and it will take care of you! :)
