1992 Toyota Camry XLE V6 3.0 V6

Summary:

Great family sized sedan

Faults:

At 45000 miles, the brakes were replaced. At 50000 miles, the struts were replaced, the front leather seats were reupholstered, and the alternator was replaced. The navy blue paint is slowly fading.

General Comments:

It was my late father's car, so I have had it since 1993. It's great on gas, pretty quick, reliable, and very comfortable. Plus, it's great in the snow. It has 53000 original miles on it, but people swear that it has way more than that on it.

1992 Toyota Camry LE 4 cylinder

Summary:

Pretty good to average car

Faults:

During Cold Months, The engine would not start. This has happened frequent times but, ceased to exist as recent as 3 years.

When going over bumps or pot holes in the road, always you would hear the "creaking of the Shock Absorbers.

At 40,000 miles, the fuel sensors were not responding correctly, I had to get them replaced.

At 35,000 miles, the car began to pull to the right. I had to realign the steering.

After a month after I bought it, the mirror fastener fell off when I was adjusting the mirror.

General Comments:

It was very reliable other than the event of the car wouldn't start well during cold months.

The car handles pretty well, but, it could be better.

The acceleration is really average.

1992 Toyota Camry Ex 6 cylinder /

Summary:

A reliable work horse with fine lines and lineage

Faults:

Very little has gone wrong.

Window fell and needed new rubber belt early on. The Florida heat was at fault.

Door handles have cracked due to rough passengers and the heat.

Trunk is starting to fall down when opened.

General Comments:

This car just runs and runs.

I have had no breakdowns in the 12 years I've owned it.

Quite and smooth ride (probably needing struts soon though).

Love the big 6 cyl ! Still has fast acceleration.

Paint still in great shape with no rust! Even in the Florida rain etc.

1992 Toyota Camry LE 3.0L V6 24 valve

Summary:

Buy one. You won't regret it!

Faults:

CV boot and joints went at 200,000 km.

Brakes had to be replaced at 210,000 km.

Cruise Control don't work.

General Comments:

This car is very fast for a 4 door sedan and it has a respectable 3L V6 (same engine as the 6 banger Lexus's). The body lines are flawless, it looks very much like a sporty sedan.

My Toyota Camry is extremely reliable for a high mileage car and great on gas.

My experience with Camry's have been great. My previous car was also a 92 Camry (4 cyl) and when I passed it down to my little brother it had 1,000,000 kilometers on the Odo and still had 95% of the compression left, it ran like it was brand new. Although I paid $5,000 for it, I only spent $1500 total on wear-and-tear parts. And I bought it at 120,000 kilometers!. I owned it for 5 years and I needed something more luxurious so I got a LE.

The interior is well laid out, very comfortable, a pleasant driving experience. Everything is within your hand reach.

Toyota did a very good job with the audio aspects of the Camry, I'm running a JVC head unit with all OEM speakers, unbelievably loud!. If your looking for more luxury and you have the cash, get a XLE.

My Camry hasn't given me any engine problems since I bought it 1 yr ago.

Great on gas, very reliable, very fast.

If you wanna buy a Camry, don't worry about the mileage, these cars are known to go past the 900k mark.

1992 Toyota Camry V6

Summary:

Great until now

Faults:

I have had minimal troubles with this car until now. It has lived up to it's high reliability reputation. However it blew the head gasket at 226,000 km which cost a lot to fix. This problem also occurs in 4Runners with the same engine. The 1997 Camry also has this problem.

General Comments:

I don't understand why the Camry has such a high rating especially when there are also sludge problems in 1997+ models.

So you satisfied owners of 92-94 Camrys...You are hereby warned.
