1992 Toyota Paseo 1.5 litre

Summary:

Sporty gas saver

Faults:

Radiator at 190,000.

Thermostat at 175,000.

Previous owner said power steering pump went before they bought it from original owner. We just use our muscles.

General Comments:

With regular maintenance this car will last forever. It is nice and little with good pickup.

I come from a short family with no one being over 5' 3" so this car is a great family car. Also good with someone with young children.

It has a lot more room than my s10 and the trunk is bigger than our family's Toyota Tercel.

From what I have heard this car is known to burn oil, but I have yet to notice such a problem with mine. This was also the car that I learned stick on and the gears were pretty easy to find.

I would recommend this car to anyone as long as they aren't too tall because at 4' 8" I have bumped my head getting in.

Also this car is rather sporty and takes nice sharp turns. I will have trouble giving this car up when it is time.

Overall a great, little sporty car with even better mileage.

1992 Toyota Paseo 1.5

Summary:

Gravy!

Faults:

Rear struts had gone on it when I purchased it. A new CV joint boot was needed, but that is about all. And I needed to change the decals on it to convert it to a manly car :)

General Comments:

Awesome car. I am scared about the clutch, but that is the only concern I have. I am sure this car will continue to get me through school and beyond a bit. I am able to take corners sharp and hang with the boys in the V4 class. Watch out world, the paseo is not goin anywhere!

So you abuse the car then blow the engine, and you give the car a bad review? Yours is the only bad review on the entire page.

1992 Toyota Paseo

Summary:

Most fun, reliable, cheap to drive car I've ever owned!

Faults:

180,000 miles had to replace starter.

General Comments:

This car is impossible to kill. It's great on gas, not too expensive to fix, which is something I've very rarely ever had to do. You won't them in the junkyard unless someone has had an accident. This is by far the best car I've ever owned and I will never part with it. Being a '92 with 200,000 miles it's 100% more reliable than my '99 VW Jetta with little over 100,000 miles on it.

A friend of mine had one of these when we were attending college together, and no matter what we threw at it, it would just keep going. We were students, so we neither had the time nor will to perform routine maintenance, and yet his Paseo just kept on keeping on. Very well built little car. We miss it a lot.

I'm from Charlotte N.C. and I have a 92 Toyota Paseo, but I just need the fly wheel to fully fix it, but I don t know where to find that piece? But I think it's a very cool car and I hope I can fix it soon.

I have a 1992 Paseo, I bought it for 400 bones. When I bought it, the timing was off, and because of that I blew the engine on the way home. The body looks brand new, no rust, and it's a sporty looking car. I plan to put a body kit on it in the summer, and do a JDM engine conversion.

And to the person looking for a fly wheel, check out www.andysautosport.com; they have lots of performance parts cheap.
