1995 Chevrolet Blazer LT 4.3

Summary:

Like a rock!

Faults:

The heater core is the only problem so far. Cost 500 dollars to get fixed.

General Comments:

The car is perfect for my needs. Takes me on my mountain trips, and to work every day.

1995 Chevrolet Blazer LS 4.3

Summary:

Nice looking SUV, but has old technology and plastic feel

Faults:

I had big problems with the vehicle stalling, brake power loss, rough idle and so on.

The problem was the EGR valve.

This is a well known problem on this engine. (4.3 liter)

A mechanic took it apart an cleaned it.

He also mounted a Tomco Kleen Screen Gasket. This is really just a regular gasket, but with a metal mesh that keeps the biggest carbon particles out of the EGR valve.

Has been running perfect since we did this.

General Comments:

Also remember to give your front ball joints some grease every 6000 km. There are about 12 grease nipples there. THIS IS IMPORTANT! If you do this, you will save a lot of money.

1995 Chevrolet Blazer LS 4.3 w

Summary:

God. nice and reliable

Faults:

1: Front brake disks replaced due to corrosion spots.

2: EGR valve replaced due to rough running and fault code.

3: Alternator replaced.

4: Small leak from oil cooler hose.

5: Exhaust aft muffler replaced

6: automatic leveling compressor worn out. The reason for this is probably a leak in the system which caused the compressor to work a lot more than necessarily.

General Comments:

This is my second S-10 Blazer Earlier I owned a 1984 model.

I mean my 1995 model Blazer is a nice, good and reliable car. It always starts when turning the ignition key to start.

One weakness is poor front lights. (low intensity) The rear seats are a little simple without neck rests. Not comfortable for adults. Rank it 8 of 10.

1995 Chevrolet Blazer LS 4.3 V6

Faults:

The front suspension squeaks. Have tried to give it some grease, but now the sound is back again.

Once in a while, the engine goes crazy. It revs without me touching the pedal, and stalls when the rpm gets too low.

I've tried to give it a fuel treatment (standard gas station product, and then the problems disappears for maybe a couple of months. Could it be the ERG valve?

Other than these problems, the truck seems OK. No other known problems.

General Comments:

Nice mid-size SUV with good winter-driving manors and OK design (for a 95.)

We have almost 7 months of winter here in Norway, so it's almost a public need to have a 4x4 ;) The good thing with the Blazer, is that although it is really not a terrain vehicle. its ground clearance is actually very good. That is a good thing when the snow plows are a bit late here!

A bottle of STP Complete fuel system cleaner every 4th or 5th tank and the rough idling will go away. Has worked for me and only have problems when I forget to use it, but will go away after about half the treated tank is burnt.

I still have this car. Works like a charm. Been using a lot of injection cleaner products, though ;)
