2006 Toyota Innova V 2.0 petrol

Summary:

A reliable and affordable family MPV. No wonder this is one of the top selling cars here

Faults:

This car just suffered two minor accidents before.

General Comments:

The V version of the Toyota Innova is the top of the line model available here in the Philippines. It looks luxurious inside with wood trim and leather seats.

Honestly, in terms of performance, this Innova is so-so. Pick up and acceleration are pretty anemic. Although you won't really need a car with a powerful engine if you're just gonna use it here in Manila, because of the traffic almost everyday. This car is meant for people who preferred to be chauffeured.

This car is very comfortable. This is the only Innova with captain seats at the back. Seats are very comfy and legroom spaces are very generous. For me, it's actually a Toyota Previa or Toyota Alphard for people on a budget.

This is actually my late auntie's car. When she passed away 5 years ago (April 2010), her children actually decided to keep it. Since all of them are living abroad, this car is taken care of by the driver and househelp. They run the car every so often to go to the grocery, market or church. The car is only utilized fully when the children arrive here in the Philippines, which happens only once or twice a year.

2006 Toyota Innova

Summary:

Good

Faults:

My wife observed that our battery has got a problem. The signal keeps on blinking - states charging even when the engine/car is running. She went to the shop and explained; they found out a bearing in the alternator was broken. Our car was just purchased 3 months ago. Model is Toyota Innova E 2006. Anyone know how to prevent this matter?

General Comments:

Generally. I like the car, it's spacious and the seating arrangement is good; the fact that all passengers are facing the road.

Also the petrol consumption is good enough, although it is 2.5/L.

2005 Toyota Innova E 2.5 diesel

Summary:

Reliable and fuel efficient car

Faults:

Battery warning sign went on whenever I heard a tiny squeaking sound from the engine. It must be coming from the bearing of the alternator. When that sound is gone then the battery is charging again. I experienced this just a few weeks ago when my kilometer reading was at 63,000 km.

The supposed turbo charged engine cannot be felt when you hit the 100 kph speed.

General Comments:

The car is a good and excellent family car. Spacious. Trouble free for the past four years of use. The suspension is still excellent.

The interior and dashboard are comparable to a car. It has a chassis and is therefore very rigid and stable.

I have not replaced my battery, and it's four years now and still good. This is the first time that my car battery lasted for four years.

Diesel consumption is fairly economical, despite its 2.5 common rail diesel engine.

2007 Toyota Innova 2.5 D4D diesel

Summary:

Hopefully I would like to own another one

Faults:

Absolutely nothing.

General Comments:

This is a Toyota quality vehicle. Made for Asia only but surprisingly it is comparable to international standards. It has a D4D common rail injection engine, the flagship of the Toyota diesels in different displacements. The Innova model has a chassis for more rigid and sturdy operation in rough road conditions. A rear wheel drive advantage. The ride is very good with 3 layers of seats. The adjustable forward and backward front seat, the same with the middle seat which can be adjusted full back if the rear seats are not to be occupied. The city/ highway average is 13 km/liter.
