Ahead of its time, great performance and handling

General Comments:
With the right set of tyres, this is a seriously fast car and handles like a proper sports car. The 2.0L MIVEC tuned engine is well built and has plenty of power. The Tiptronic gearbox works well and adapts to your style of driving.
The cabin is well designed with clear instruments and comfortable bucket seats.
The back seat can fit two adults comfortably for short distances, but I wouldn't want to be in there for too long.
Good examples are available still, so try to get an unmolested one; there are too many of these cars that have been customized and turned into eyesores.

I loved the FTO in Gran Turismo! Sadly, I have no first-hand experience with the car, as it never made it to the USA. If enough avoid death by ham-fisted modification, maybe a few will be imported here in 2019.

I live in the UK and have only seen a few of these cars in my lifetime. And rarely are they original, un-modded ones are rare.

Good review, these are excellent cars, gained popularity after the Gran Turismo games on Playstation! As did most Japanese sports cars from the 90s.
Unfortunately though as you mentioned, trying to find an original one with no mods is very hard...
