2003 Peugeot 607 SE 2.2 HDI diesel

Summary:

A superb car for the price

Faults:

Nothing.

General Comments:

This car is one of the best cars available at the price in this class.

The seating is extremely comfortable and the driving position can be adjusted to suit anybody.

The cabin and the boot space are vast.

The standard equipment is amazing, including dipping wing mirrors when reverse is selected, auto wipers, auto lights, seat memory, air bags galore. In fact you name it.

I've been driving a 607 2.2HDI SE Auto for the last 6mths and it's fab! The trade and British press seem to hate them, but it's tons better than my previous cars including a Saab 9.3 and Merc C Class. It oozes style and costs half the price to service. Nothing's gone wrong, I'm cosseted in luxury and I'm getting 40 to the gallon. One of the motoring industries most slated, misrepresented models. Depreciation might be a negative factor, but this is one I'm going to keep. Well done Peugeot! Why are those teutonic ten-a-pennies so popular? Badge snobbery, I reckon.

2003 Peugeot 607 GLX 2.2 diesel

Summary:

Total luxury at realistic price

Faults:

Very minor problem on book lock Fixed in 5 minutes.

General Comments:

This is by far the best and most luxurious car I have ever driven. After 1 month could not go back to not having sat navigation. I feel very special every time I get in and out of this vehicle. It is loaded with little extras and warning features which makes it feel totally safe. Seats not as comfy as 406 but still good. Electric seat adjustment is superb. It is very quick, massively roomy and I would recommend it to anyone!

Thanks for that - just bought an ex-demonstrator 2.2 HDi Auto with leather seats and all the toys - really looking forward to it - also had 406s before. Nice review. Too much badge snobbery about BMW and Merc in my view.

2001 Peugeot 607 SE 2.2HDI

Faults:

Minor Electronic Warning sensors playing up by intermittent operation, but one, namely an airbag defective warning light. Still not corrected.

Brakes coming on of their own accord, turned out to be caused by faulty Computer operating the EBS.

Car replaced by dealer to resolve this problem.

General Comments:

A genuine luxury car at a not too luxury price.

Good performance and roadholding.

Spacious both in the car and in the boot.
