2011 Skoda Superb Elegance Estate 2.0 TDi
Summary:
Near perfect vehicle
Faults:
Rear load cover snapped, A/C dead, had some issues with the alarm going off at random so I just removed the fuse, passenger window is also bit slow to move. Exterior looking rough. Paint fade, but no major rust.
Inside the leather is holding up well. Most things still work.
Mechanically the car is solid, no major problems. If serviced on time and the cam-belt is changed, these cars are super reliable.
General Comments:
Beautiful Superb Estate car, dark red exterior with beige leather interior. Original Skoda wheels, looks great.
Elegance model is near top of range. This car is amazingly modern feeling inside for its age. It's hard to believe it is well over a decade old now.
To drive the 2.0 TDi with the auto box blends performance and economy well. You'll get over 40 mpg, for a heavy estate car with an automatic this is impressive, albeit the same diesels in the smaller Octavia range with manual do in excess of 50 mpg. You'll rarely get that out of this, but the slightly less economy is worth it for the performance. This car moves very quick when needed, I think it has near 170bhp, which is not far off what an Octavia vRS has! The Superb can hold its own.
Fantastic to drive, handles well too for its size and weight.
Soo many features inside for its time, really does still feel like a luxury car. Soo spacious.
It won't last forever at the age and mileage it is at, but I see no reason to get rid of it yet, it has passed another MOT with little to no issues! A fantastic buy on the second hand market. Being an older diesel, and due to stupid UK laws, I have to avoid inner city low emissions zones, but that is OK if you live out in the country as I do.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes
