2022 Infiniti QX60 from North America

Summary:

Basic family SUV lacking excitement

Faults:

Nothing to comment. This was a 1 week rental car for the family. The rental company (no names) could not provide a Cadillac XT6, so I got stuck with this one, since the other rental vehicle (Jeep Wrangler) was too small for us, especially since we have a lot of luggage.

General Comments:

I had this for one week rental from Newark, NJ. The vehicle was already scratched from the previous renter on the right side fender. The trunk-space was barely adequate to fit 2 large suitcases, and 4 small carry on bags, plus my dad's wheelchair. Needless to say, I had to rely on the backup camera to tell me whether cars were behind me (or not).

Seating spaces are decent, however dad complained that it did not have enough handles (for disabled persons - entry/exit). The kids and wife however did not complain.

Road noise - definitely quiet for such a large vehicle. Multiple electronic aids (parking assist, blind spot/lane assist, 3D 360 view, front collision warning).

For those of you trying to figure out what this Infiniti qX60 is... it is a mere upgrade of a Nissan pathfinder (not the SUV, but the crossover).

I wasn't a big fan of the electronic gadgets, however they are very helpful.

Seats - 1st and 2nd row are adequate, however 3rd row is very cramped (only for small children).

I can't comment on towing capacity.

Fuel consumption - average at best. I barely got 17 city and 22 highway... depends on whether you use premium or regular unleaded fuel.

For a family vehicle, it isn't bad, however for me the 3rd row, and trunk space are big turnoff due to lack of space in the vehicle.

Lastly, the keyfobs are expensive so don't lose them.

2019 Infiniti QX60 Luxe 3.5 V6 from North America

Summary:

Extremely disappointed in this "luxury" SUV

Faults:

The back floor mats don't fit well. The poorly designed floor for the back entry just seems to invite scratches.

Mine has developed what seems to be a common problem with this model... water inside the headlights.

The control system in the middle will only show the map on start up, no matter what it was set to when the vehicle was turned off.

Features are limited and outdated.

Sonar sounds can not be turned off and they are obnoxious. The warning light for the sonar system comes on frequently.

If the gas cap is not tightened as much as possible, it will have a problem.

Road noise is very loud.

General Comments:

I am extremely disappointed in the new 2019 QX60. Nothing but problems and I haven't even had it 6 months. I thought I was going up in quality by moving up from the Nissan Muranos I had for so many years and loved. Leasing the QX60 was the worst decision I've ever made. I never had as many problems with the Muranos as I do this QX60. This QX60's features don't even come close to the features of my last 2 Muranos. It rides nice, but that's the only good thing I can say about it right now.

Sorry you didn't like your QX60 Infiniti, because that is Infiniti's best selling SUV. And their only vehicle built in the USA by way of their factory in Smyrna, TN. The rest come from Japan except for their new QX30 which will be built in Mexico. Infiniti only sells about 10,000 vehicles a month in the USA. And if they are not getting that vehicle right, they might be in trouble. Because it's one of their bread and butter vehicles keeping them afloat.
