1998 Acura Integra GS 1.8 from North America

Summary:

The best car I have ever owned

Faults:

Nothing has gone wrong with the car, just basic maintenance and less than regular wear on things (brakes, spark plugs, etc..)

General Comments:

This is by far one of the best cars one could own. I absolutely love it! It is fun to drive, has okay power, but excellent fuel economy (I average 32mpg!). The interior is a nice place to be; it is comfortable, and has the best all around visibility of any coupe I have seen. It is extremely reliable, cheap to buy (paid 5k for mine), cheap to maintain, cheap to run, and fun to drive.

Bottom line, if you are thinking about getting one, do it! You will not be disappointed! I have nothing but good things to say, and all the other owners I have talked to have said nothing but good things as well.

Consumer reports says this is the best car ever built. I have 94 LS Integra. 126k miles. I bought this car new. I will drive this car until I die.

Remember to change the timing belt and water pump.

1998 Acura Integra LS 1.8L 4 cylinder from North America

Summary:

The little effin engine that could

Faults:

From purchase at 45,000, no problems whatsoever until the area of 125,000 miles.

Oil changes only required by manufacturer every 7,500 miles. I figure 5,000 for better performance.

Brake replacements standard; pads every 15,000 to 25,000, depending on driver. Rotors only necessary once.

Small radiator crack around 125,000 miles; 400 or so to fix.

Timing belt broke around 150,000; around 300 to fix.

Distributor cap went out around 160,000; rebuilt for 800. That's about it for "major" work.

General Comments:

I've taken this beast through 8 MN winters, which anyone can tell you is not an easy thing for a car.

By far this is the most reliable vehicle I've ever seen in the wintertime. I've never needed a remote starter or engine block heater to start it in temps below 0. Though I'm told it is quite rare, I personally have never had to replace any part of my clutch system in almost 200,000 miles. Regular maintenance and fluid checks will keep these things running forever.

Originally I bought this car for 11,000 thousand, thinking it would end up lasting a long while. I could not be more satisfied with anything else. In 8 years, I couldn't have spent more than 2,000 maintaining parts, minus standard upkeep prices such as brake pads and oil changes. BEAST.

1998 Acura Integra LS Sedan b18b1 from North America

Summary:

Very reliable great car!!

Faults:

This car has ran great, there has been only minor maintenance issues. Brakes, spark plugs, etc.

I love this car and would definitely buy another one.

I have been hit twice in this car and it did not do much damage at all. All repairs were made by a reputable company and did not cost a fortune.

This is also a great car if you plan on modding the engine, there are tons of performance parts.

General Comments:

I did not like the way the car handle so I replaced the stock suspension with TEIN aftermarket suspension, the car now handles like a dream.

The car doors open and close like they were new. AC, power windows and locks work great.

The only complaint that I have is the sunroof tubes sometimes leak. Other than the sunroof, this is one of the most perfect small cars on the road.

1998 Acura Integra LS 1.8 B18B1 from North America

Summary:

An economical luxury sport with the spirit of a show-stopping race-car

Faults:

I haven't had anything major go wrong with this car, it's fantastic.

The first thing that happened was the battery went dead, which is completely understandable considering the age.

The next thing was my upper radiator hose blew out a hole about the size of a tennis ball. The car overheated, but was fine - no damage was done to the head gasket, which must be tough. When I replaced the hose, I noticed it was the original, it had held strong for 10 years.

The biggest problem I ever had was the distributor went bad at 10 years of age. It wasn't very costly to replace.

Also, the car did not have a factory alarm system, so I installed one myself before moving to a big city. I had heard it was pretty high up on the list of most stolen cars, and wanted to prevent theft at any cost. It is a very reliable & fun car to drive.

General Comments:

This car is very fun to drive. It accelerates fairly quick for a 1.8 and stops on a dime. I know those brakes have saved me from being in a few accidents, and its acceleration always leaves me ahead of the pack when the light turns green, I don't even have to floor it.

The body styling is gorgeous. It seems very aerodynamic. I have installed a body-kit and spoiler and this car turns heads and leaves some people trying to guess what kind of car it is.

It is always welcome at any Honda or Acura service station and maintenance isn't expensive.

It gets very good gas mileage.

It is fairly hard to find one for sale. It took me 4 months to find this one.
