1998 Acura Integra LS 1.8 from North America

Summary:

A luxury Civic

Faults:

Radiator began leaking at approx. 62000 miles requiring an expensive replacement.

Hatchback struts failed at about 60000 miles and had to be replaced.

Check engine light illuminated at 53000 miles after full-up. Disconnected battery and light reset. The light has not come on since then.

The engine can be difficult to start when the fuel level is low or after a significant temperature change overnight. Starting also takes a bit longer during hot days approx. 1-2 hours after engine is run, but that phenomena is not consistent. Best guess is a partially clogged fuel filter or weak fuel pump.

Exhaust rattles when cold. Not a problem when the engine and pipes are warmed up.

General Comments:

I'm a bit surprised about the number of small problems, but overall I enjoy the car.

The mileage has always been good and I have never questioned its overall reliability.

The Integra is much more refined than my 1995 Neon, though the Neon did not have the small annoying problems the Integra has.

Would like to have owned this car since new, but has been a very good used car. I would buy another Acura or Honda product.

1998 Acura Integra GS 1.8 4 cylnder from North America

Summary:

Great fun in a sporty economy car

Faults:

When I first got the car, the front headlights were fogged up and had to be replaced.

The driver side door does not shut tight. Going around turns or hitting small bumps causes the door ajar light to come on.

The passenger seat moves a little with abrupt breaking,

General Comments:

This has been a great car so far. It gets great gas mileage and is fun to drive. The handling is good for the most part, but at high speeds under steer can be a problem.

1998 Acura Integra GS 1.8 non-VTEC from North America

Summary:

Good enough for its price

Faults:

The gas paddel doesn't feel smooth enough.

Engine is running too loud for me.

Power windows have noise when too hot outside.

Light for the transmission when off at 80000km.

The things that hold up the trunk is broken when bought.

My car is red, and the front bumper color somehow doesn't quit match to the other part, not sure if the car was in an accident or whatever.

General Comments:

Automatic transmission sucks, can't pick up speed right away when using D4.

Should of get the integra with VTEC engine, like GSR or type R.

Easy to drive good looking.

Try to avoid getting this car in red because red fad very easy and get dirty easy.

1998 Acura Integra Type R from North America

Summary:

Great handling, but needs more power

General Comments:

The car handles very well and is fairly peppy, but it doesn't feel like 200 hp. The engine only makes power past 4000 rpm and anywhere below feels very anemic especially for a car that is lacking the power and AC options for performance gains.

In my opinion there a a lot better deals deals when looking for performance, but I do love the handling.

It's a high revving motor... these types of motors make hardly any power at lower RPM's...u want low end power? supercharge it. if not then get a mustang. I love hearing high-rev motors at 7k+...music to my ears.

The 1.8 (B18C5) engine is made to be revved to get power. Notice how smooth the engine is all the way to redline? Yes, agreed, below 3500rpm its not the most powerful, but hey take it to vtec and beyond and you will feel the 200 horses.

1998 Acura Integra LS 1.8 gas from North America

Summary:

A dream come true

Faults:

Battery was dead when I bought it.

General Comments:

This car is definitely a great car to have. It's quick and handles extremely well at high speeds :)

The seats are very comfortable, although there is no middle seat in the back. Just a plastic seperator making the back seat a little uncomfortable for passengers.

My Integra has numerous upgrades... including cold air intake, ground effects, exhaust, 17 inch rims, etc.. so as you can see, Integras are definitely the car to have if you want a fast, but comfortable car.

I just bought a 98 Acura Integra LS and got the best deal! The car is quick and responsive. The clutch is a little quick though, not necessarily the best car for someone to learn how to drive a 5 speed. All around, I love my Integra, and I highly recommend one for someone looking for a quick, fun, sporty yet comfortable car.

I LOVE my '98 Acura Integra. I've never had any problems with her. She has a air-intake, 2&1/2pipe, cat-back exhaust and she rumbles, like a tiger when you start her up. Beautiful is the word that best describes her.

1998 Acura Integra GS 1.8 from North America

Faults:

No problems yet with the 98. My 92 Integra had airleaks in the windows and a problem with the light for the heat/air.

General Comments:

A fun car to drive. Quality workmanship. This is my 2nd Integra and would advise anyone to buy one.
