2000 Acura TL from North America

Summary:

Great car bad Transmission

Faults:

OK...So now there's a recall on the transmission. I just found out YESTERDAY..yippee. The recall only covers one transmission and it doesn't cover the transmission if the dealership puts in ANOTHER BAD ONE!!!" Swapping one piece of junk for another is not going to solve the problem!!! Why can't they FIX THE PROBLEM and then fix the transmissions of everyone who has a problem not cover it up or screw loyal customers over? I have had 2 transmissions put in my 2000 3.2 TL and the third one just burned up last week, since I'm over the 100,000 mile warranty/ Recall (which according to Acura customer care is the same thing) I cannot get another transmission. Oh and by the way I was under the warranty when I first took it to you and you, ACURA, put it over the 100,000 mile warranty when you kept it for almost 3 MONTHS to do repairs. When all you were doing was changing out one burned up transmission for another one.

General Comments:

Yea a particular ACURA Certified Dealership (only one in the State wouldn't know a burnt Transmission if it fell in their laps.

2000 Acura TL 3.2 3.2L V6 from North America

Summary:

Few Flaws, Great Car

Faults:

The fan relay switch went out. It took two trips to the dealer to get fixed. Even after I told them what was wrong.

Knock sensor went out, because of mice crawling into my engine to stay warm in the winter.

My transmission went out. It was the second one. The fist one was a factory recall (patch-job by Acura). The dealer told me they had bad tranny's for a couple of years. New tranny was done by third-party. A lot of money, but I know its fixed.

General Comments:

Love the car. Rides like any luxury car should ride. Handles good for a luxury sedan. Quick motor, even better with an intake. I highly suggest one. Cabin a bit small, but I am 6'2". About 28MPG in town, 37MPG was the best I got on the highway. Seats comfortable, leather soft. Good highway/road trip car.

2000 Acura TL 3.5 from North America

Summary:

This Car is fantastic

Faults:

Nothing wrong yet.

General Comments:

Amazing quality, I've put on over 30K and done nothign, but oil changes.

Tranny acted up at 70K, but Acura Dealer replaced it under recall.

Although not as posh or flashy as the Lexus, it is impossible to beat the quality of this car.

2000 Acura TL 3.2 V6 from North America

Summary:

This is a very reliable, sporty, great handling 4-door luxury car that gets 26-30 mpg.

Faults:

The automatic transmission was replaced at 55,000 miles by the dealer since it was under the 100,000 mile warranty. This was a very good experience since the dealer paid for the towing of the car and gave me a rental car for the entire time the new transmission was being installed.

I also had the motor for the windshield wipers replaced.

General Comments:

I bought this 4-door used car from a car broker. He bought it from a leasing company, so it was in very good shape. The previous car I had was a 96 Acura TL 3.2, and I loved it.

This light gold Acura has a spoiler, a tan leather interior with wood-like trim on the interior doors and around the dash and gear shift. This gives it a great-looking, sporty interior.

The V-6, 225 HP engine gives me great acceleration and it handles extremely well in heavy traffic and on the highway.

In the Atlanta, GA (3 million people) heavy traffic I get 26-30 mpg, even though I have to use 93 octane gasoline. This is an extremely reliable car and I will drive it until I can afford a 2004 Acura TL 3.2 in 2008.
