2007 Acura TL Type S from North America


Beautiful car, amazing electronics - very poor service on Acura's part


Extremely high amount of warranty items.

Truck rubbed paint off bumper - Acura did not fix, they extended the trunk past the tail lights and insist this is OK - car looks as though it has been wrecked and repaired by substandard repair shop!! Not acceptable, very poor service/attitude. Acura refuses to fix correctly. This is my 6th Acura. After this experience, I will not buy a 7th. Lexus will get my money next time.

Several rattles that cannot be identified.

The headlight lenses have been replaced twice.

General Comments:

Acura warranty service has been poor at best.

Car is quick.


Amazing navigation system.

Occasional rattle in dash.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? No

If a truck damages the paint on your bumper, isn't that an insurance claim? How does a body shop extend the trunk lid?

These comments make no sense. Other than the accident, the alleged owner provides few facts/comments on owning an Acura.

Also, have fun with your Lexus. I've always wanted a car that decides how fast I go, especially one I've paid $40k+ for...

Maybe go to a different body shop other than a dealer. May have loosened hinges and created a panel gap on the deck lid (my thoughts on covering the bumper).

I have an 08 TL that I just got back from the dealership, as I also had some warranty odds and ends to have repaired, but I have to tell you, Acura has stolen my heart! I love my TL, and the acceleration on the base TL, which I have, not the Type-S, is awesome. I hardly have to put my foot down on the pedal.

I have the white pearl, and when I wash and wax the car, it looks absolutely gorgeous. Sorry about your luck with yours, and I hope you give Acura another chance!

Acura TL swinging front doors.

I am a disabled person. I have a hard time with the front doors. They don't stay open to get out. The doors keep swinging back and hit me in the knees. Acura service dept. can't fix it. Trying to exit in street traffic is very dangerous, and very hard in tight spaces in parking lots.

It seems your issue is with the dealer body shop and not the car itself (If this is your 6th Acura, why would you be suddenly mistreated after 5 Acuras?). And, did you buy your 2007 Acura TL used or were you the original owner during the mishap?

I've been extremely happy with my 07 TL and dealer service (at least in my community) has been great!
