If you are comparing apples with apples (pricing) note the following. The equivalent pricing comparison relates to the Acura RL model not TL. The RL was ranked first place and the BMW came in 4th (Edmunds). The Acura was also faster. In addition the BMW stark interior is not in line with autos in this price range. The Acura scored #1 in luxury sedans so you can feel better about your purchasing an Acura. I did extensive research and drove many different makes and feel you cannot beat a TL especially.

I don't own a TL (yet) but my general impression from two test drives I have taken is that the car has lots of power, but not much low-end torque, which seems to be the Honda way. You have to keep the revs high to get the power. I also thought the ride was too stiff. I'm driving a Mazda 6 now, which is firm, but still absorbs the bumps pretty well. In my limited time in a TL I felt that it did not have a lot of suspension travel. Do those who own them feel this way?

I bought my TL at the end of Last year, so I've had it for about six months. And I LOVE it! You are right the suspension is a little stiff for a luxury car, but it was meant to be. The TL has a double-wish bone suspension which is usually sporty cars, it makes for much better handling. I have to agree that the navigation system does have some flaws, but I disagree with most everything the original reviewer said. True there are cars out there with more power, but nothing that is in the same price range as the TL. I feel that it gives the best bang for the buck.

If you mash your foot down, you will have torque and the VTEC really kicks in. 0-60 under 6 seconds and it sounds really great by the way... If you can find an isolated road (not city) and do a test drive, you will buy.

I like the wider tires and tighter suspension, otherwise I would have bought an RL. I like the performance, and the options in the interior make it very luxurious.

I do not like BMWs. If I were to go that route, I would buy a Mercedes, but that's not pertinent here.

I recently test-drove the TL. I went home and told my wife I have a fever and the only cure is an Acura TL.

"The seam on the shifter faces your palm. It irritates your palm as you drive. The dealer made little effort to fix it."

Oh, how horrible of them! The dealer didn't re-stitch the shifter for you? Those scoundrels! What kind of savages are behind this Acura pish-posh?

If that's among the worst things you can say about the car, I'd say you've found yourself a winner. Come on now.

Why would you complain about the reasonable 43 dollar oil change, when a BMW has a 200 price tag for their oil change. It's not even in the same class.
