2007 Audi A4 Quattro 2.0FSI from North America
Summary:
Audi Junk
Faults:
Bought this Audi A4 New Last February (2007) and in the cold and snowy weather the car starts and runs from 500 (almost quitting) to 2500 (screaming) the engine management just goes crazy. It has been to the dealer numerous times and they cannot find anything wrong except for the check engine light signaling a miss fire. Audi of America will not do anything about it and the dealer will not do anything either. The car was traded off, and I took the kick in the resale of it. Buyer beware of a company that will not stand behind their cars! I am very dissatisfied after owning previous cars from this manufacturer.
General Comments:
Car goes like crazy, but only gets 25mpg. It also surges till the temp gage gets to the center. It gallops in 10mph jumps. Interior is nice - fit and finish.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? No

I'm sorry, you want a car that goes fast and gets higher than 25 mpg? Particular a fastish car like the A4 that weighs about 3700 lbs? Plus the above commenter is correct; most cars nowadays have a revver setting when it's cold to warm up the engine.

I think the replies above did not understand the issue the owner was talking about. He said the engine was surging between 500 and 2500 RPM until it would get to normal operating temperature. By any standards that is normal with a car. There was perhaps a fault with a sensor, such as a temperature sensor or such. What is strange is the Audi dealer could not diagnose such an obvious problem. The best thing to do is to see a different dealer.

All cars nowadays rev high in cold temperature, it's designed that way. It's to warm up faster and reduce emission. Can't comment on the CEL, you didn't describe enough.
