2020 Buick Encore Preferred AWD 1.4 turbo from North America
Summary:
Love it
Faults:
Nothing, just regular maintenance.
General Comments:
Drive in Toronto, Canada. Got it new, no issues so far other than regular maintenance. Got the AWD Preferred, I am 6 feet, fits me well. Easy to get in/out of the car with plenty of head space, even with the sunroof package. Since I push the driver's seat back, the children fit behind driver's side.
Great local commuter, a bit noisy on the highway, good for short trips, take my larger SUV for long trips for more comfort, good gas mileage. Don't load more than 4 adults for comfort, love the small turning radius compared to my old Impala.
Reminds me of my old Pontiac Vibe with a bit more height.
Always warm the car in winter to get the oil going and help long term turbo life. I use 0w30 mobile full synthetic oil in winter for better oil flow to the engine and turbo on cold days.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know

I believe Trailblazer came later in 2021 in my area. I still have the 2020 1.4t Encore; still reliable, no issues so far, and I also recently bought a 2023 Encore GX 1.3t 9 speed, similar to a Trailblazer. Has a bit more tech, but I prefer the smaller and older Encore, as I find it easier to drive and park.

To answer your question, bought during COVID, and they had limited availability, was lucky to get one that time, paid around $35,000 CAD with taxes. I see them now, still selling high, asking $20,000+tax for low km. Mine now has 56,000 km.

Yes, also considered the S-10 Blazer.

When purchasing, did you consider the Trailblazer or a similar crossover from another mainstream brand? I’m curious what Buick offered to merit the premium pricing.
