1978 Buick LeSabre Limited Landau review from North America
"Tuff as nails!!!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Old age has taken a toll on this car, but mostly regular maintenance items.
The catalytic converter went out, $300.
The rear suspension had to be replaced, $290.
The rear brake line rusted through (at a stoplight!), $300.
The water pump failed, $150.
Transmission went out, $670.
Total repairs are around $1700-2000, but it's much cheaper than a car payment!
General comments?
The paramount luxury you will feel in riding in a vehicle of this caliber is something intoxicating. On any given night you may find me and my cronies rolling up in this piece -- we drive to survive.
Plenty of room in the interior, front and back seats are plush and roomy, accomodating even the choosiest ladies.
I once hit a tree at about 30 mph when the brake line went out, the small ding in the front bumper is all I have to show for it!
Even after backing into a haul away dumpster and pushing it through the lot, the only evidence is a small pockmark on the trunk.
Indestructible!
